Say That You Love Me - Prologue

White roses.

Grassy field.

Cloudy day.

Gentle breeze.

Leaves falling down.

Tears in his eyes.

Unspoken words.

Heart breaking silently.



If only he knew back then what he knew now...

If only he had not hesitated, nor questioned everything...

Then, maybe, just maybe, it will not be too late...

10 years earlier...


"Wait up for me!"

The teenaged girl shouted angirly at the boy before her. The boy looked back, and and stuck out his tongue at her. "Catch me if you can!" he said. He got up on his bike, and pedaled away from her. The girl could only growl in frustration. She tugged her bike, and ran to catch up with the boy. "Wait till I catch you, you meanie!" she shouted at him.


They reached the lakeside after a while. The boy dropped his bike, and then sat down on the grassy field. The girl came in shortly. She dropped her back next to his, and grudgingly walked up to him. "Why didn't you wait for me?" she said as she put her hands on her waist. The boy look up at him, and gave him a smirk. "You're always slow, did you know that." he said. She let out a sign, and sat next to him. "If you're always like that, I'll find myself a new best friend." she threatened. The boy could only smirk again. "You can never do that."
"I can. Just wait and see."
"You can't. I am your one and only best friend. And no one can be patient as I am when it comes to you."
"I can find someone much better than you!"
"No one can ever replace me in your life."


She slumped down beside him, and looked up at the blue sky. "I just know that we'll be best friends forever. I'm stuck with you, you're stuck with me. We're like Siamese twins. No one can tear us apart." she heard him said. She looked at him with a confused look on her face. "Me? Stuck with you forever? No way!" she exclaimed. Her reaction have caused him to laugh. "You're always like that when I win in our race." he said. "We are not racing, all right. And besides, you know that I hate being left behind, and you should know that!" she shouted at him. "Well, if you don't want to be left behind, then you could have moved faster, you turtle." he said.


He put his hand under his head, and lay down on the grass, staring at the skies. "But you know, no matter what happens... I will never leave you behind..." he said. Then, he looked at her and smiled. "I promise you that." She let out a shy smile, and lay down beside him. "You better keep your promise." she said. "Or else..."
