About This Blog

This is where I post my original works - stories, poems, proses, essays, etcetera. I own everything that's written here. If you want to post my works somewhere, please give credit to me.

Original stories are stories whose characters came from my mind. I own the character for those posts that have this tag.

Fan fic are my stories which stars my favorite Asian stars/anime characters/drama characters. I only own the stories, but not the characters (I do wish I own Calvin Chen and the rest of Fahrenheit... lol)

Roses are my short proses/stories. it may be written in first person's view or thrid person's view. It's just a narrative prose.

One-shots are my series of stories that are one chapter long. These are also tag as roses.

Actually, I was planning to make 25 short stories before my 25th birthday (which have already passed) and unfortunately, I wasn't too successful in making 25 short stories. I was panning to call it 25 roses, hence the tag roses here in my blog.

Anyways, if you want to read just one story, click on the title below and then start reading from below.

Happy Reading!

P.S.

I'm trying to figure out how I could highlight the entries here and copy, but I am not that knowledgaeble with HTML. So, while I'm trying to figure things out, if anyone wanted a soft copy of the stories here for reading purposes only, you can shoot me an email at tamed_soul@hotmail.com

The Man-Hater - Chapter 1

Chapter 1 - Girl Meets Boy

If anyone asks who Ella Chen is, they will give you this standard answer – the name Ella Chen brings fear in every man who have met him. The name Ella Chen is the nightmare of any guy who wants to an architect. Ella Chen is synonymous to the any word that could mean the opposite sex, albeit, those who have the XY chromosome in their body, their own end.

Men in the Polygon Designs (where she is the boss, by the way) could only tremble in fear upon hearing her name. Hence, there aren't much guys in this architecture firm. 20 % of the male population from this company are either:

a) married and are very VERY faithful to their wives (those who are married for more than 5 years)
b) gay
c) nerds and those who really have talent in designing
d) have not heard who she is

Why is this so? You see, Ella Chen never fears men. Men fear her existence. She have proven to herself and to the world that she is much better than the opposite sex, and she proved that when she built up her own architecture firm. She is the epitome of girl power. Ella Chen is Taipei's very popular man hater.

Nobody really knows why she hates men. Rumor has it that the very reason why she hates men, is because

a) her dad left her and her mom for another woman
b) she was dumped a lot of times
c) she is a lesbian

Nobody could figure out why. Maybe, the only people who knows the reason behind her strong personality and hatred towards men are her best friends – Hebe Tian, and Rainie Yang – with the former always being thought as her rumored girlfriend.

So, want to know why she is a man hater? You'll get to find out soon. And yeah, this story is about to start. And you'll get to know the reason with the help of one guy, and a dare.

--

A loud cry was heard all over the den. While Hebe is consoling the crying Rainie by her side, Ella was just standing in front of them, with her arms folding, giving her best friend an I-told-you-so look. “Ella, stop looking at Rainie like that.” Hebe scolded her. Ella could only let out a sigh. “I told you, men are up to no good. Especially that guy who dumped you!” Ella told Rainie. Rainie reached for a tissue on the box, and sneezed on it. Then, she looked up at her, and then began to cry again. “He... he... he... said... he... he... loves... me...” Rainie managed to say in between sobs. “I gave him... my... my... all! That... that bastard!” she added.

Ella let out a sigh as she rolled her eyes. “You always give your all to any guy, Rainie Yang! You never learn. And now, when that guy got what he needs from you and got tired of playing with you, you run to us, and cry! Can you be little stronger?” Ella said. Rainie let out another loud cry, and Hebe groaned at her in frustration. “Can you be a little gentle on our friend, Ella?” she asked. Ella shook her head. “No way. She's always like this, and every time she gets dump, she run to us! I'm so tired of hearing her breakup stories! She never learn.” Ella said. “Can you, just this time, help me console our friend? She is broken hearted, Ella.” Hebe said. Ella let out another sigh, then looked at her crying friend. Though she is tired of seeing Rainie always crying because of some jerk, she couldn't bear seeing her like this. Then, an idea hit her head. “Rain, who is that guy again?” she asked.

--

And before we move on to what will happen next, let's meet the other person in this story. Of course, a heroine needs a leading man in her life, right?

Go Kiat Chun a.k.a. Wu Ji Chun. Born to one of the wealthiest families in Brunei, and have lived in Taipei since his college days. He is Taiwan's most sought-after bachelor. Being a member of one of Asia's most influential family, he is always in the limelight, and his private life always tends to get exposed in the public. Everyone is watching his moves – from running their family's company (he is the CEO of Palacio Hotel and numerous hotels and resorts in the whole Taipei), to his numerous girlfriends.

He is every girl's dream guy, of course – filthy rich, very handsome, smart, funny, witty, charming, a real gentleman. But he have his flaws as well - he is one hell of a heartbreaker. He changes his girlfriend before you can say supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (and yeah, he just changed his girlfriend while I am saying that). He could charm you, and make you believe that he really loves you, but once you had spent a night with him, it's over between the two of you.

He have dated a lot of girls from the high society – from socialites, to artists, to models, heck even a glamorous beauty queen from the late 80's. Somehow he got tired so classy girls, so he decided to date an ordinary girl from a middle class family.

What he doesn't know that the last girl he dated would bring him the excitement he is looking for.

--

The door of the high class club opened, and a tall, mascular man entered. He let out a smile as all girls looks his way. He brushed his hair with his fingers, as he look out for a prospect date for the night.

“Chun! Here!” he heard a familiar voice call. Chun looked at the bar side, and saw his best friends, Show Luo and Mike He waving at him. He smiled at them, and then walked to their direction. “Man, you look so cool today!” Mike complimented him. “Am I always cool?” he said. The three of them let out a laugh. He then turned to the bartender, and ordered his favorite drink.

“By the way, where's Rainie?” Show asked. Chun looked at him, and smirked. “I dumped her.” he said. Show and Mike looked at each other, then gave him a shocked look. Chun could only laugh at their reaction. “What? Don't I always dump girls? Be surprised if I'm the one who got dumped this time.” he said. “Well, we just thought that... you know... it's for real this time...” Mike said. Chun shook his head. “No way.” he said. Mike and Show looked at each other again. They knew what kind of mess Chun is getting himself into. “Well... good luck to you...” Mike said. With that, Chun gave him a confused look. “What do you mean by that? Why do you have to say that?” he asked. Mike just shrugged his shoulder. “Why did you break up with Rainie, by the way?” Show asked. “Simple, I got what I needed from her. So, I have to say goodbye to her.” Chun said. “Poor girl...” Mike said as he shook his head. “Well, I'm single again, and ready to mingle.” he said.

As he took his drink, his eyes turned to the door of the club. As the door opened, a short haired girl wearing a haltered blue blouse, black shorts and boots came inside the club. As she entered, he saw her brush her hair with her finger, and looked around the place. Chun found her really pretty and interesting, so he never took his eyes off her. “I think I found my date tonight...” he said.

Ella turned her eyes on the bar, and found the man she's looking for. “You're dead meat.” she thought as she eyed Chun. She let out a sexy smile as she looked at him. She saw him smiling at her direction. She played a little naïve, and looked behind her to make sure that he is really smiling at him. Then, she walked up to the bar, and joined Chun. “One blue margarita please.” she told the bartender. She could sense that Chun was checking her out. She turned to him, and let out a smile. “Hey, sexy...” he said huskily. “Hey... she said. He leaned towards her and began to make his move. “So, do you have a date tonight?” he asked. She shook her head. “I'm all alone tonight.” she said. With that, Chun's face lightened up. “Then, that's great. I'm alone as well. What do you say if you become my date tonight?” he asked. Ella let out a flirty smile. “I wouldn't mind.” she said.

While the two were talking, Show and Mike were looking at Ella. “Show, she looks familiar...” Mike said as he nudged his friend. Show nodded his head in agreement. “I think I saw her somewhere... but I couldn't remember where...” he said. The two just stared at the girl, trying to figure out her identity. “So, where have you been all my life?” Chun asked her as she held her hand. Ella let out a fake flirty laugh. “What a lame pickup line! I'm probably hiding from you?” she thought. “You're such a charmer! I don't even know what your name is...” she said. Chun smiled at her. “I'm Chun. Wu Ji Chun. And you are...”
“I'm Chen Jia Hua.”
“So, Hua... do you believe in love at first sight?”
“Why do you ask?”
“Because when you walked in to that door, I found myself spending the rest of my life with you...”
Ella bit her lips as she flirted with him. “Awww... that's so sweet...” she said.

Chun looked at her hand, and played with it. “What do you say if we get out of here, and I get to know you much better?” he asked. Ella let out a smirk. That's her cue to do what she have to do. Just then, the bartender placed her drink in front of her. “Well...” she said. Chun waited for her answer. Then, she smiled. “No.” she said. Chun was confused with her answer. “Eh?” he asked. “Actually, I don't want to get to know you. Because I already know who you are.” she said. This made him even more confused. She took her drink, then threw it on him. And before he could react, Ella punched him in the face, making him fall on the ground unconsciously.

She stood up from her seat, and folded her arms. She looked at him triumphantly. His two friends immediately grabbed him, and stood him up. “That's for dumping my best friend, jerk!” she shouted angrily at him. Then, she turned her back on him, and left him. Show and Mike were in awe as they watched her leave the club. “Eh... Show... I think I know who she is...” Mike said as they helped the still unconscious Chun up. “I think I know too...” Show said. Then, they looked at Chun. “And this guy is in big trouble for meeting Ella Chen, the man hater...”

--

“Damn that stupid girl!” Chun shouted angrily as he entered his pad. He took a towel, and then took some ice. He put the ice on the towel, and then put it on his swollen eyes. “It's your fault anyway.” Show said. Chun could only glare at him. “What? I am at fault this time?!” he said angrily. “You flirted with her.”
“She flirted with me first!”
“She had bad intentions.”
“I didn't know!”
“She just so happened to be Rainie Yang's best friend? You know, the girl who was so obsessed with you that you dumped the other night? She had her revenge on you for breaking her friend's heart.”

Chun let out a groan as he looked away from Show. “OK. I didn't know.” he said calmly. “And, another thing... you had no idea who she is right?” Show said. This time, Chun looked at him with confusion. “I don't know her.” he said. With that, Show let out a laugh. “Oh, funny! Now you will know who she is! She is the exact opposite of you. If Goh Kiat Chun a.k.a. Wu Ji Chun is Taipei's well known playboy, she is Ella Chen, the most popular man-hater.” Show said. With that, Chun gave him a curious look. “Man-hater?” he asked. Show nodded his head. “Is she a lesbo?” he asked. “Guess so...” Show said as he shrugged his shoulder. “Ella Chen, huh?” Chun said. Show nodded his head. As he looked away from his best friend, a smirk formed in his lips. Now he knows how to make that girl pay for punching his handsome face.

--

Chun swing his golf club, and looked at the ball as it flew away from him. “You know what, man, what you're thinking is really impossible...” Mike told him. “Nothing is impossible for Wu Ji Chun. Remember that, Mike He.” he said. He turned to him, and adjusted his sunglasses. “All I need to do is track the girl down. I had her info.” he said. “Even if you had her info, how sure are you that she will face you? Come on, she is a well known man hater. If you love your life, you will not look for her.” Mike said. Chun let out a laugh, and shook his head. “She couldn't be that worse...” he said. He walked up to where his golf ball landed, and Mike followed him. “She punched you in the face.”
“So?”
“She really is scary, man! To think that she knocked you down.”
“Well, I'll get my way. Before she knew it. I've knocked her down. In my bed.”
“She isn't easy to get, man. I've heard a lot of guys have tried to tame her heart, but she couldn't be moved.”
“She will be moved by me.”
“I don't think she will...”

Chun let out a groan, and turned to glare at him. “Can't you be a good friend, and cheer on me? Come on! You know me. What Chun wants, Chun gets. Even the most impossible.” he said. “What's impossible?” they heard someone ask. As they turned around, they saw their other friend, George Hu, walking up to them. “Impossible to make Ella Chen like Chun.” Mike told him. George wrinkled his brow as he looked at Chun. “Ella Chen? The Ella Chen? The man hater?” he asked. Chun let out another groan at them. “How come you guys know who she is, while I don't?!” he said. “She is a lesbo, man... don't think of making her fall in love with you.” George said. Chun gave him a confused look. “She is a lesbian?” he asked. George shrugged his shoulder. “Rumor says she is. If she isn't, then why does she despise men so much? Anyways, she is really a great architect. Remember that summer house my uncle have built? She was the one who designed it. Great girl... I would have asked her out, if not for those rumors that she is a lesbian.” George said. “Well, too bad, because she will date me, and she will go out with me.” Chun said.

With what he said, George couldn't help but laugh. “Are you kidding me? I told you, she is a man hater!” he said. Chun folded his arms as he glared at his friend. “Even if she is a lesbian, I can turn her into a real woman.” he said. George folded his arms, and looked at him as if challenging him. “Are you sure?” he asked. Chun nodded his head. “So, are you up for a dare, Chun?” George asked. Chun gave him a confused look. “It's just simple, Chun. Make her fall in love with you. For a girl like her, I'm giving you 3 months at the most to make her fall in love with you...” George said. With that, Chun let out a smile. “Are you challenging me? And are you questioning my reputation as lover boy?” he asked. George nodded his head. “If you can do it, then I'll give you that villa you've been eying in Kaoshioung. If not, then you have to do you have to give me your precious Lamborghini Gallardo.” George said. With that, Chun narrowed his eyes at him. “Then, be ready to give up your villa.” he said. George just let out a smile. “Or, be ready to give up your car.” George said.

Now, his mission is more exciting that ever.
