About This Blog

This is where I post my original works - stories, poems, proses, essays, etcetera. I own everything that's written here. If you want to post my works somewhere, please give credit to me.

Original stories are stories whose characters came from my mind. I own the character for those posts that have this tag.

Fan fic are my stories which stars my favorite Asian stars/anime characters/drama characters. I only own the stories, but not the characters (I do wish I own Calvin Chen and the rest of Fahrenheit... lol)

Roses are my short proses/stories. it may be written in first person's view or thrid person's view. It's just a narrative prose.

One-shots are my series of stories that are one chapter long. These are also tag as roses.

Actually, I was planning to make 25 short stories before my 25th birthday (which have already passed) and unfortunately, I wasn't too successful in making 25 short stories. I was panning to call it 25 roses, hence the tag roses here in my blog.

Anyways, if you want to read just one story, click on the title below and then start reading from below.

Happy Reading!

P.S.

I'm trying to figure out how I could highlight the entries here and copy, but I am not that knowledgaeble with HTML. So, while I'm trying to figure things out, if anyone wanted a soft copy of the stories here for reading purposes only, you can shoot me an email at tamed_soul@hotmail.com

Love Me Again - Chapter 2

Chapter 2 – Past Resurfacing

“Behave yourself, Yu Zhe.” Cecille said firmly to his nephew as they entered the Zhou mansion. Danson just let out a sigh as he followed his aunt. “As if I will rape Uncle Joey's daughter...” he muttered. As they got inside the living room, Joey saw stood up from his seat to greet them. “Glad you're here, dear.” he said. Cecille gave him a smile. “Of course, it's my first time to meet your daughter.” she said. Joey looked behind her, and saw Danson. He smiled at him, and the latter nodded at him. “Good evening, uncle Joey.” he said. “Taking some time off from the bar?” he asked. “Aunt Cecille insisted that I come with her to meet the maid of honor.” he said. “Oh, don't worry, you will meet Xuan Xuan later.” he said.

Just then, Danson's phone rang. He took it from his pocket, and saw Joe's name flashing on the screen. “Excuse me, but I got to take this call.” he said. The two excused him, then he went out to take his call. “So, where is your lovely daughter?” Cecille asked. Joey looked by the stairs, and saw his daughter walking down the stairs. Genie immediately recognized the woman by her father's side as her new mom-to-be. “Aunt Cecille!” she greeted. She smiled at her as she rushed down the stairs. She gave the elder woman a kiss on the cheek. “I'm glad to finally see you, Xuan Xuan. You're more prettier in person than in picture!” Cecille said. Genie felt like she blushed at what she said. “Thank you, mom. I hope you don't mind me calling you mom now...” she said. Cecille smiled, and shook her head. “I would love to be a mom to a pretty girl like you.” she said.

Joey smiled to himself as he watched the two most important in his life together, and was he ever glad that they get along well. When he started his relationship with Cecille a few years ago, he was scared that Genie would not accept her. But things turned out differently. Genie was very happy to find that her father have fallen in love again. Since his wife died, he dedicated his time and effort in raising Genie alone, and Genie thought that it's time for his dad to fall in love again and to get married, and eventually give him a baby brother or sister that she have always wanted.

“I found the perfect gown for you. Tomorrow, we'll go the shop of my friend to look at it, all right? Let me know if you will like or not.” Cecille said to Genie. “I will sure love it, mom. And besides, didn't you emailed me the pictures of those lovely gowns? It's so hard to pick from them, so I think whatever you choose would be the best.”
“So, did you arrive with your boyfriend?”
“No, he had some work to do. He'll be coming here soon, though.”
“That's great then, I can't wait to meet him as well.”

Joey shook his head as they talked. He never thought that these two ladies were too excited to see each other, that they totally forgot about him. “Ehem...” he said, clearing his throat. The two looked at him, and giggled. “I think my dad is jealous!” Genie said. “He's always like that when I ignore him.” Cecille said. Genie nodded in agreement. “I know, right?” she said. Then, the two giggled again. “Well, I am jealous. You girls have all the time in the world tomorrow to bond. As of now, I want us to have dinner.” Joey said. The two nodded his head. “Is dinner ready yet?” Cecille asked him. “I think so. By the way, where's your nephew? He didn't ran away, didn't he?” Joey asked. Cecille shrugged her shoulder. “He just took a call. He can't run away. He wanted to meet Xuan Xuan.” Cecille said, smiling at Genie.

Just then, Danson came back inside the mansion. “I heard you guys talking about me...” he said. Genie paused upon hearing his voice. “It seems familiar...” she thought. “Oh, there you are, Danson!” Joey said. Genie wrinkled her brow as she heard the name his father said. “Danson?” she asked. Of course, she knew someone named Danson. How could she ever forget that name.

Then, she looked at the direction where her dad is looking at. She was surprised to see him – her first love, and her first heartache. As Genie looked at his direction, Danson's eyes widened to see her. Of course, he still remember her. She was that nerdy girl he dated back in high school.

“Danson?!”
“Genie?!”
The two said at the same time. Both Cecille and Joey were surprised that they know each other. “You knew each other?” Cecille asked. The two nodded their head. “Uncle Joey, please don't tell me that this girl is your daughter...” Danson said. Joey nodded his head. “She's my one and only daughter all right.” Joey confirmed. Genie glared at him, then she folded her arms. “What the hell are you doing here, Danson Tang?” she asked. “You dad invited me for dinner.” Danson said. “Why would my dad invite you for dinner?” Genie asked again. “I just so happen to be Aunt Cecille's nephew. Hello...” he said, rolling his eyes at her. Genie turned to his dad with a pleading look. “Dad, please don't tell me that this jerk is your best man?” she said. “He is my best man, pumpkin. What's going on?” Joey said in a confused tone. She felt as if someone poured cold water on her.

She didn't want to see him.
He is that very last person she wanted to see in her entire life.
Heck, she even regret why she fell in love with this jerk in the first place.

“Can someone tell me what's going on? How come you two knew each other?” Cecille asked. Then, she turned to his nephew. “Yu Zhe, don't tell me you dated Genie in the past, and broke her heart...” Cecille said. Danson bit his lips as he flinched. He is guilty, all right. He broke up with Genie twelve years ago because he was already starting to date one of the school's princesses. “Yeah... I guess so...” he said. Genie felt her blood boiling due to anger. She clenched her fist as she made a fit. “Guess so? Guess so?! Goddamnit, stupid Tang Yu Zhe! You dated me 12 years ago for six months, and broke my heart! I hate you! I despise you and I swear to God that I don't ever want to see you!” she shouted angrily at him. She stomped her feet, then, she marched back to her room.

Joey watched her daughter as she retreated back to her room. Then, he let out a smile. “Well, what a small world!” he said. Meanwhile, Cecille glares angrily at his nephew. By the way his aunt looks at him, her knew that he is a dead meant. “Yu Zhe...” she said. She walked up to him and pinched his ears. Danson could only flinch in pain at what her aunt did.

--

“Genie Zhou? The dorky girl you dated back in high school?” Joe asked Danson. Danson looked at him, and nodded his head. “Yep. That's the one.” Danson said.

Because Genie threw a fit when he saw her and because his aunt got mad at him when he found out that he dated and dumped Genie back in high school, and because Genie simply refuse to get out of her room to face her, their dinner was canceled. And here he is at the bar, drinking with his best friend and business partner, Joe Cheng.

“I never thought you would see her again...” Joe said as he shook his head. “I never thought as well... but you know, she changed a lot. She've grown much prettier than the last time I saw her...” Danson said dreamily. Joe glanced at his friend, and shook his head. “By the way you look right now... you seem to be smitten by her once again.” Joe said. Danson nodded his head. “She never fails to mesmerize me.” he said. Joe gave him a disgusted look. “Oh, please! As far as I remember her, she had this thick glasses, and had these ugly braces on her teeth. She even had a lot of pimples! Did you know that everyone was laughing at you because you dated her? Good thing you broke up with her back then.” Joe said. Danson let out a smile. He shook his head, and took a sip from his drink. “I find her cute back then.” Danson said. Joe gave him a surprised look. “Cute? Are you kidding me? She is a very boring girl, I tell you. Good thing you broke up with her to be with... who was that? Ah yeah... Angela Zhang.” Joe said.

Danson looked away from his friend, and let out a sad smile. Suddenly, he remembered that day when he broke up with him. He love Genie so much, and he had his own reasons why he chose to break her heart. “Well... past is past. She hates me now. I guess there's nothing I can do to make her change her mind.” he said. Joe gave his friend another confused look. “With the way you're acting right now, I definitely can smell something fishy. Don't tell me that you still love her?” Joe asked. Danson paused, then he looked at his friend. He just let out a meaningful smile at him.

--

“Calvin, you should have been here. Damn, I hate the guts of that guy. I hate him to the core. You should have been here to beat the hell out of him.” Genie said on the phone. She heard her boyfriend laugh on the other line. “Genie, honey... don't get too affected with your ex-boyfriend. Past is past, right?” Calvin told her. “But still. I can't forgive him He is my first love, and when he broke up with me... minutes later, I saw him with another girl? He surely cheated on me back then!” she said angrily. She heard Calvin laugh again, which made her even more annoyed. “Don't laugh at me.” she told him. “Honey... don't waste your time hating him. And besides, I thought you have forgotten all about him? Why are you acting this way? If I were you, I'll just ignore him. I'll act as if he doesn't exist at all. That's all you've got to do, all right?”

She let out a sign, and then smiled to herself. Somehow, talking to her boyfriend made her feel at ease. “What would I do if you weren't my boyfriend, Cal? Thank you for listening to me...” she said. “You know that I'll always be here for you... although I had a lot of paperworks in front of me now...” he said. With that, Genie let out a laugh. “All right, I won't disturb you anymore. Get back to work, Mr. Workaholic.”
“I love you, honey.”
“I love you too.”
“Better get some shut eye now, all right? Don't bother with him.”
“I sure will.”
“Don't let the bed bugs bite. Love you.”

Genie ended the call, and let out a smile. She feel so lucky to have a boyfriend that's a good listener. Then, she looked at her fingers. Since Calvin proposed to her, she have not given her an answer yet. She pulled out her drawer, and took out the engagement ring he gave her and slid it on her hand. “Should I give you my answer now? I don't think I'm ready to get married yet, Calvin...” she thought. She let out another sigh.

There was nothing to complain about him. As a boyfriend, he is a perfect one – sweet, thoughtful, a great listener, and he understand her well. But then, there are times that he is not around for. Sometimes she felt as if she is his second priority, his work as a corporate lawyer being his top priority. But then again, he is everything that she is looking for in a husband. “I guess I should give him my answer soon.” she thought. Then she lifted up her hands, and as she threw herself to bed, she looked at how beautiful the solitary diamond ring looked on her hand.
