About This Blog

This is where I post my original works - stories, poems, proses, essays, etcetera. I own everything that's written here. If you want to post my works somewhere, please give credit to me.

Original stories are stories whose characters came from my mind. I own the character for those posts that have this tag.

Fan fic are my stories which stars my favorite Asian stars/anime characters/drama characters. I only own the stories, but not the characters (I do wish I own Calvin Chen and the rest of Fahrenheit... lol)

Roses are my short proses/stories. it may be written in first person's view or thrid person's view. It's just a narrative prose.

One-shots are my series of stories that are one chapter long. These are also tag as roses.

Actually, I was planning to make 25 short stories before my 25th birthday (which have already passed) and unfortunately, I wasn't too successful in making 25 short stories. I was panning to call it 25 roses, hence the tag roses here in my blog.

Anyways, if you want to read just one story, click on the title below and then start reading from below.

Happy Reading!

P.S.

I'm trying to figure out how I could highlight the entries here and copy, but I am not that knowledgaeble with HTML. So, while I'm trying to figure things out, if anyone wanted a soft copy of the stories here for reading purposes only, you can shoot me an email at tamed_soul@hotmail.com

My Two Love, My True Love - Epilogue

Epilogue:

A year later...

I paced back and forth by the altar. I am getting nervous, and jittery. I wanted to go out for a while, but I can't. I'm scared that any moment, she'll be here.

“Chun?” I heard Arron call me. I looked back, and saw him walking up to me. He gave me a confused look. “Why are you like that? Relax, will you?” he said. I let out a nervous smile at my brother. “I cant relax, I'm sorry...” I said. He smiled at me, and then put his arms around me. “I know you are so excited, ge. Just relax. You've waited a year for this day to come... and I'm scared you'll pass out because of your excitement.” he said. I let out a nervous laugh, and shook his head.

Today is our wedding today. After two years of being together, finally, Ella and I are finally getting married. If I had the will, I would have married her the moment I proposed to her in this very church where I found her a year ago. But, Ella being the stubborn girl I know, she insists on a year, saying she wants to “test” me. And aside from that, she wanted everyone we love dearly to be here on our wedding day. After I proposed to Ella, Arron and Ariel decided to go back to the States so that the two of them can continue where they left of in school. Arron and Ariel just came back, and finally, my brother has graduated. He'll be working for me, not as a Market Specialist or as my assistant, but as the head Art Director. Yep, that's my ever talented brother. I'm so proud he is my little brother. Aside from Arron and Ariel leaving for the States, Jiro and Angela got married a few months after I proposed to her. As for Calvin and Joe, well I heard they had plans. They were supposed to get married first, but I begged Calvin to let me marry first, because if they get married first, then I would wait for another year to marry Ella, just like what happened when Jiro and Angela got married.

“You've got the rings, right?” I asked Arron, my best man. He nodded his head. “Everything is set. Don't worry...” he said. Just then, Ariel came up to us. She's one of our bridesmaid today. “Chun ge...” she said. Then, she handed me a paper. I felt my heart beating fast when I looked at that paper. “She ran away?” I asked. Ariel laughed, and shook her head. “Silly! Will you sign this one? It's for the band.” she said. I let out a sigh of relief. I took the paper and signed it in haste, then handed it back to Ariel. After awhile, Calvin came. “Chun, Ella wants to give this to you...” he said. He handed me a paper. Now, I felt more scared. “Please don't tell me she doesn't want to get married to me. Please don't tell me she ran away?” I pleaded. Calvin rolled his eyes, and sighed. “Oh please, how can she run with that bulky gown of hers. You know how clumsy your wife is. Just read it, and give us a sign when you're ready to be married.” he said. Calvin winked at me, then he and Arron left me alone at the altar.

I sat on the bench, and began to open her letter. It is a love letter. And I found myself smiling as I read Ella's letter to me.

Dear Chun,

If you got this letter, then it means I'm sitting at the car outside the church, waiting for the time that you will say you are ready to spend forever with me. Just like you, I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with the one I truly love, and that is you.

Remember how we first met? I could never forget that one. You came into the bar, asked for a bottle of Martini. You got yourself really drunk, that you can't walk a straight line anymore. I helped you to your car, and what did you do in return for my act of kindness? You stole my first kiss! I swore to myself that if I ever meet you again, I'll beat you up till you're black and blue, but fate played a trick on me again. It turned out that you're the elder brother of the guy I have a huge crush on. Since I found that out, I tried my best to avoid you, but then fate interfered again – it turned out Arron gave my resume to you. You accepted me as your assistant, and I have no other choice but to work for you.

Most of the time, you annoy me. You have this habit of bossing me around, especially when Arron is around. I hate the fact that you are strict on your brother, and you look down on him. But as we get closer and I get to know you, I realized that there's more to you than that serious facade you are showing everyone. You had the most handsome smile I've ever seen. You have a scared shriek that could make my eardrums burst. When you sing, it's as if I could hear the thunder and could see the lightning. You take video games too seriously, and always hates to lose. You're the most perverted guy I've ever met in my entire life, not to mention, you outdo the Hardy boys when you snoop around my things. When you're jealous, you can be a pain in the ass sometimes. And you always makes that prank that annoys me to hell.

But despite of it all, you always make me laugh and smile. The days seems so much brighter when I'm around you. You loved me like no one could ever love me this way but you, and I love that feeling. You cared for me, and you make me want to take care of myself because of you. I don't think I can last a day without you, and I don't think I can survive this life if I had never met you.

I guess what I really want to tell is that I'm glad that you are mine, and I am yours. I'm glad that in this lifetime, I met you, my true love. There's nothing else I would want more that to be with you forever and ever. They said that once you found your true love, you should never let it go. I won't ever let you go, Chun. Even if you ask me to stay away from you, I won't ever do that, because I know I would regret it more if I did. I made a mistake before when I had to give you up, and now I know better. This time, it's for keeps.

I love you, Chun... and I'm grateful that out of a billion girls in this world, I was the one you chose to love, and to be with for the rest of your life. I'm ready to marry you now, and I hope you are too.

Meet me at the altar. And I do hope you will keep your promise, and you'll answer “I do”.

You one and only angel,

Ella (the future Mrs. Chun Yan-Wu)

I smiled to myself. I swear I almost had tears of joy while reading that letter. With every word written on it, I could feel Ella's love for me. And I'm so lucky to be loved by her.

“Chun...” I looked up, and saw Angela walking up to me. “Ella wants to know if you're ready?” she asked. I smiled, and nodded her head. “I'm ready for her. I've been ready for this all my life...” I answered. She smiled at me, and retreated back outside the church. In a while, our wedding will be starting, and she and I will become one.

--

I clutched on the bouquet of roses on my hand. I readied myself for in a while, it will be my turn to walk down the aisle. And finally, our song played, and it's my queue to walk.

I made careful steps as I made my way through him. I could see him smiling lovingly at me. I felt my tears falling down my cheek as I looked at him. As I made my step, I remember all the things that happened in the past before we could have this happiness. I don't regret a thing that I did before, for it made our relationship much stronger, and those things that happened in the past only proved how much Chun loves me.

Before I knew it, I was already at the altar. He took out his hand at me, but before I could take it, I looked at his best man. I gave Arron a smile. “Thanks you...” I said. Arron is the reason why we are here. It was through him that I met Arron, and it was because of him that I got much closer to Chun, which eventually made me fall in love with him. Arron turned to smile at me, and nodded his head. “Anything for you.” he said. Then, I took Chun's hand, and together, we faced the priest.

The ceremony went on smoothly. When the priest asked me if I would take Chun as my husband forever, I turn to him and smiled before I said “I do.” I could swear I saw a tear in his eyes when he heard my answer. When it was Chun's turn, and the priest asked him if he take me to be his wife for the rest of life, he smiled at me, and nodded his head. “I do.” he said. “I now pronounce you man and wife. You may now kiss the bride.” the priest said. I turned to Chun, and he lifted my veil. His loving kiss sealed everything. His kiss let everyone know that today, I am Mrs. Chun Yan-Wu, that I am his forever, and that today is the beginning of the new chapter of our lives...

--

I watched as my brother and my new sister walked out of the church. They looked back at us, smiling happily. Before Chun carried Ella in his arms, Ella threw the bouquet in her hand. It landed on the girl standing beside me – Ariel. “Wow, so I'm going to be married next?” she asked me. I just shrugged my shoulder. She just smiled at me, and buried her nose on the bouquet.

The truth is, she isn't wrong. It's just that I'm scared to pop that question to her. I know she had a lot more exploring to do. I can't stop Ariel from doing the things she loves the most. “I wonder if I will get married next...” she said. “I think it will be Joe and Calvin's turn.” I answered. She looked at me, and pouted. “Aiyo... I wish I could get married soon. I'm not getting any younger...” she said. I could only give my girlfriend a confused look. “So, does that mean that you want to settle down, and become a dutiful wife to the great Arron Yan-Wu?” I asked. She nodded her head. “But I guess the great Arron Yan-Wu is not yet ready to settle down. I guess I'll wait a little longer until he is ready.” she said, smiling at me.

Somehow, it amazes me how understanding Ariel is. And it amazes me more that this very understanding and patient girl is my girlfriend. That's when I decided to do what I have to do. I took a ring from my pocket, then I showed it to her. She looked at it, and I could see confusion written all over her face. “Marry me... please?” I asked.. She looked up at me, and smiled. She gave her hand to me, and I slipped the ring on her finger.

Finally, like Chun and Ella, Ariel and I will have our happily ever after...

My Two Love, My True Love - Chapter 38

Chapter 38 – Love You More and More

Oh my God, I love you more and more
I accept this arrangement of fate
Seeing you dream of persistence
Moving the mountain and sea
Cry for you, smile for you
feeling down for you, feeling high for you
No resistance, no shame, no change
The more I try to slow down, the more I lose control
Instead, I love you more and more

--

Every happy ending
Starts with a dramatic beginning...

--

“I can't marry you.” they said in unison. Both of them were surprised at what they said. “You can't marry me?” they both asked again in unison. Then, the two of them let out a sigh of relief.

Chun let out a smile, but still he's curious what made Ariel realize that she can't marry him. “Look, Chun... I'm sorry...” Ariel began. As she was speaking, they didn't know that Arron was standing by the staircase, and could hear their conversation. “It's just that I have fallen out of love. I thought I am still in love with you... but I'm not anymore. Well, I thought I am in love with you, but there is someone else that I am in love with. I realized that I've been in love with him all this time, but I'm too blind to see that. I know he loves me too, he told me that... he confessed his feelings to me... but I was too surprised and too scared to tell him that I really love him that I could only watch him walk away. I see my life with him... I see myself marrying him. I see myself growing old with him. I see myself with him by my side as I chase my dreams. It's him... just him... only him...” she said. She paused, and took a deep breath. Then, she looked up at Chun. “I'm sorry that I have to do this... that I have to break your heart, Chun. I can't lie to myself. I've been having second thoughts about this marriage... I really wanted to back out... but I'm scared. Too scared... I'm scared to bring shame to our families... and I'm scared that I'll be alone all my life if I marry you. I thought he is in love with someone else, but I was wrong. He is madly in love with me, and I am madly in love with him. I know it's not yet too late for the two of us, and before I make the biggest mistake of my life, I'm going to do this. I'm going to take the risk. I have to ask him to stay with me, and if not, then I would understand. I just have to let him now that I love him, and demand him to be in my life forever.”

Arron found himself smiling happily upon hearing what Ariel said. His heart was beating fast with excitement, with the thought that Ariel also loves him. He just couldn't contain the happiness he's feeling. Meanwhile, Chun was all confused as Ariel speaks. “Wait, wait, wait... you are in love with someone else?” he asked. Ariel nodded her head. “I am. I'm sorry. I am in love with your brother, Chun. I love him. But... I think he chose to be with Ella and start a new life with her... and before he could go, I have to tell him what's inside my heart.” she said. Chun looked back at the stairs, and saw his brother standing. He was smiling – a smile that he have never seen in his brother since they were kids. Chun smiled to himself, and faced Ariel again. “Does Arron loves you too?” Chun asked. Ariel nodded her head. “He told me he love me...” she said. She lowered her head to hide the sadness in her eyes.

Chun folded his arms, and then, looked at Arron. “Arron, I want to hear you tell Ariel that you love her. I want to know that it's real.” he said. Arron was surprised at what his brother said. And so was Ariel. She looked up to where Chun is looking, and she saw Arron walking down the stairs. She was so shocked to see him, and she assumed that Arron heard the things she told Arron. “Oh, shoot!” she said as she smacked herself in the head. “Ge, before I repeat what I said to Ariel yesterday, I want to hear those words she said a while ago to you...” he said eying Ariel. He walked towards her, until he was already standing too close to her. Ariel looked up at him, and saw him smiling.

Chun stepped back, and let Arron be with Ariel. He watched them as the two of them confessed their love for each other. He may not have his own happy ending, but he's glad to know that his brother did. He is more than happy to know that his brother finally found his happiness with the girl he truly loves. “What part do you want me to say again?” Ariel asked in a shy tone. “The part about you falling in love with me?” Arron said. Ariel's lips curve into a smile. “I am truly, madly, deeply and crazily in love with you, Arron Yan-Wu... I love you with with all I have... with all that I can give, with all that you can take, with all that I can explain. I love you, that despite the bad things that have happened and that will happen, I know I can make through it because of my love for you.” she said. Arron looked down, and held her two hands. “And I love you too, Ariel. I love you till there are no more stars in the sky, till there are no more sands in the shore. I will love you till the world shuts down. And I will love you until my very last breath, until the very last life time I will have.” he said

He cupped her cheeks, and looked at her lovingly. Then, he leaned down, and gave Ariel a long and loving kiss on the lips. Chun watched as the two of them kissed. He is happy for his brother, and for Ariel. He was glad that Ariel had the courage to face what she truly feels, unlike him, who sacrificed the girl he truly loves.

And finally, the two of them are together.

--

“Can you tell me now why you can't marry me?” Ariel asked Chun as he sat on the couch. He looked at his brother, who was sitting close to Ariel, and Arron just nodded his head. “Exact reasons as you had...” he said sadly. Arron let out a sigh. He could sense the sadness that his brother is feeling. “You fell in love with another girl?” Ariel asked. “No, he fell in love with another man.” Arron joked. Ariel gave him dagger looks, and then she took a pillow and hit Arron. “Wei! Your brother is not gay!” she said. Arron let out a laugh, then he hugged Ariel and kissed her on the cheek. “I'm just kidding. Look at him. He's so sad...” Arron said.

Chun smiled at his brother. “Thanks for cheering me up, Arron. But...” The smile on his face slowly disappeared upon remembering Ella. “I fell in love with another girl. I never expected that I would. She's the exact opposite of my dream girl, but I did fall in love with her. She can be annoying at times, but I found her cute. She can be feisty, and she would stand up for the one she loves, and for what she thinks is right. She was the one who took away my fear of darkness, and she always encourages me. She's clumsy, and she would always get herself in trouble, and when she does, I have no choice but to save her. She made me realize what it felt like to be a kid again. She made me realize that there's more to life than work. I accidentally met her one night, and I didn't realize that that accident would be the reason I will fall in love with her.” he said.

Then, he looked at Ariel and Arron. “I fell in love with Ella Chen.” he said. Ariel was surprised with what he said. “Ella? Isn't she in love with Arron?” she asked. Arron shook her head. “Eventually, Ella fell in love with Chun. Because of the little things he does. It's just too bad that they can't be together...” Arron said. Ariel turned to Chun, still confused with his revelation. “I told Ella that I love her. And she said she fell in love with me too. The time that you and Arron where in the US, we had an affair... but we ended it as soon as the two of you came back home... because she doesn't want to break your heart...” Chun said.

With that, Ariel punched Chun in the face. Chun was shocked at what Ariel did. “What was that all about?” he asked. “That's for cheating on me.” she said. “I'll make a mental note not to cheat on Ariel...” Arron muttered on his breath. Ariel let out a sigh, and then looked at Chun. “Do you love Ella?” she asked. Chun nodded his head. “But both of us became coward. We were both scared to be hurt, that's why we chose to end everything. I want her back, I really do, but what can I do if she doesn't want to be with me?” Chun said. With that, Ariel gave him another punch, much to the shock of our leading man. “What's that for again?!” Chun said angrily. “That's for you being such a coward, Chun Yan-Wu! You didn't want to break my heart that's why you went ahead with this wedding. If you love her, if you really love her... then you should go after her!” she said. Chun just shook his head. “I guess it's too late now. I already made a mistake of letting her go. I hope you guys won't do what I did.” he said.

He stood up from his seat, and then let out a sad smile. “Well, I do have some work to do. Arron, can you help me and Ariel call our guests and explain to them that the wedding is off tomorrow? I'll go talk to dad and grandpa about it.” he said. Arron nodded his head. “I'll talk to uncle Francis first. I'll explain to him I'm the reason why her daughter can't marry the great Chun Yan-Wu.” Arron said. Arron held Ariel's hand, and looked at her. “Don't worry, we'll make them understand. I'm also a Wu, remember?” he said. Ariel smiled at him, and nodded her head. “I love you, Arron.” she said. “I love you too, Ariel...” he said. Then, he gave Ariel a kiss on the lips.

--

Grandpa Wu looked sternly at Arron, Ariel, and Chun. He leaned back to his leather chair, then let out a smile. “Finally!” he said. The three of them looked at each other with confusion. “Grandpa, aren't you going to be mad?” Ariel asked. “Mad? Why the hell am I going to be mad, when you're supposed to marry Arron all this time?” he said. This made the three of them even more shocked. “What?!” They said in unison. “You heard it right. Arron is the one supposed to marry Ariel, not Chun. But since Chun already made Ariel his girl, then we had no other choice but to go with it...” he said. “But, grandpa... I thought it's supposed to be me... because I'm the one you've been training since young to take over the company.” he said. Grandpa Wu shook his head his smile. “I trained you to be take over the company, not to marry Ariel. And the reason why I said one of you will marry Ariel one day is because I know Arron is in love with Ariel since they were young! Chun, you and Ariel isn't even compatible!” he said.

The two guys just shook their head, and Ariel couldn't help but laugh. “Silly, grandpa!” she said. “And Ella?” Arron asked. “Well, I knew eventually Ella will be part of this family, because she is already part of this family. She is the granddaughter I never had. Reminds me of your grandmother when she was still alive – so sassy and streetsmart.” he said. “I guess that settles your problem, Arron. All you guys have to do is call the guests and tell them the wedding is canceled.” Chun said. “And how about you, Chun?” Grandpa asked. Chun paused, and looked at his grandfather. “I... I need some time alone...” he said.

As Chun turned to leave, he heard his grandfather call him again. “Chun....” he looked back, and saw his grandfather smiling at him. “Remember this – if it's not happy, then it's not yet the end. And every happy ending starts with a tragic beginning.” he said. Chun smiled at him, and nodded his head. Then, he headed out of the door and left.

--

Calvin heard his phone ringing. He swiveled his chair, and took the call. “Hello?” he said. “Calvin! This is Joe!” he heard his girlfriend say on the other line. “Oh, hey, baby! I'll pick you up later -”
“Silly! I didn't call about our date. I know you're more excited about it than me.”
“Then why did you call?”
“Chun and Ariel canceled their wedding.”

Calvin was surprised at what his girlfriend said. “They did?” he asked. “Yes. Ariel called me to confirm that it's canceled.” Joe said. “Well... what can I say... that' a bad news?” he asked. “No! It is a good news, Calvin. Ariel is now with Arron. And Chun, well, Ariel already broke up with him. Isn't that great? At least Ella and Chun can finally be together...” Joe said. Calvin's lips curved into a smile at what Joe said. “Yes, it is a good news...” he said. “So, you're going to tell Ella, right? It will stop her from leaving, right?” Joe said. Calvin let out an evil smirk, and shook his head. “Let's just say I'm going to do something to prove that Chun is worthy of Ella's love...”

--

The supposed-to-be-wedding-day.

Ella walked outside their house. Jiro tailed behind her, with her luggage on his hand. “I guess this is it...” Ella said as she turned to her friends. Jiro put her arms around Angela, while Angel smiled sadly at her friend. “I'm going to miss you, El...” Angela said. “We'll see you in Canada, OK? You know Anj and I have to go there so that I could formally ask for her hand in marriage from her parents.” Jiro said. Ella smiled, and nodded her head. “I will miss you too, guys. Just tell me when you guys will be there.” she said. Then, she looked at Joe, and could see her friend in tears. “Hey, this is not yet the end... I'll e-mail you everyday, I promise you that.” she said. Joe came up to her, and gave Ella a hug. “I sure will miss you, El...” she said. “I'll miss you too, Joe. Take care of Calvin for me.” she said.

Then, she looked at Calvin, and saw him smiling at him. “Well, I guess it's time for you to go. I'll drive you to the airport.” he said. Ella smiled, and nodded her head. She waved goodbye to her friends before she got inside the car. As soon as they were inside the car, Ella turned to Calvin. “Cal, I have one last request from you...” she said. Calvin looked at Ella, and without her saying a word, he understood what she means. He started the engine of his car, and drove Ella to her last destination.

--

“Ge...” Arron opened the door of his brother's room, and saw him sitting on his bed, looking at Ella's picture. Arron sighed, and shook his head. “Ge, don't be like this, please? Ariel and I are both happy. You should be happy.” he said. Chun looked at him, and shook his head. “I tried calling Ella, but she's not picking up. I guess she really wanted me out of her life...” he said sadly. Then, he turned his eyes away from his brother, and looked at Ella's picture again.

Arron let out another sigh. He have to tell his brother the truth now about Ella, or he will end up like this for the rest of his life. He is happy now, and his elder brother also deserves to be happy, and be with the woman he truly loves. “Ge, there's something I haven't told you about Ella...” he said. At that instant, Chun looked up at him, curious at what Arron was about to tell him. “Ella is leaving for Canada today.” he said. Chun was shocked at what his brother said. “She what?! Why didn't you tell me before?” he shouted angrily at him. Arron flinched as his brother shouts at him. He knows it's his fault, but he promised Ella he would not tell Chun a thing about her leaving. “Sorry ge... I... I promised her. She said it would be harder for her part if you knew that she's leaving today.” he said. Chun stood up from his bed, and faced his brother. “But still, you should have told me! I could have made my move right away!” he said.

Chun brushed his hair with his hand, and then let out a frustrated sigh. “You still have time to follow her, ge... if you really love her.” Arron said. Chun paused, and looked at his brother. “Flight B-109 Eva Airs. The plane will leave in an hour. 10:51 to be exact.” Arron said. Chun felt his heart racing against his chest. He looked at his watch. He have an hour to stop Ella from boarding the plane. He have to stop her, or he will lose his chance to be with her. “Can I make it? I have an hour...” Chun said. “If you run to your car right now, and speed up to the airport, yes you can make it, ge. Unless you decide to just follow her. I don't know where she would be staying in Canada. She told me she will just give me the details as soon as I've decided to follow her there.” Arron said.

Chun looked at his watch again. 59 minutes. He've got 59 minutes to stop Ella from leaving. And he have to make his move now. “Then, let's go!” he said. He grabbed his brother, and both of them dashed downstairs. As soon as they reached the stairs, they saw Ariel, and she noticed the two of them running. “What's the rush?” she asked. Arron and Chun have no other choice but to stop. Arron was about to explain, but before he could, Chun grabbed his hand, and Ariel's hand, and dragged them both out of the house.

--

Chun could feel the cold sweat beads in his forehead. He looked at the stoplight, and it's still on red. “Come on, come on...” he muttered. “Chun... relax, OK? We will get Ella, I swear.” Ariel said. “Yeah, listen to my girlfriend, will you?” Arron said. He gave the two a death glare. “Do you have an idea how many minutes I still have to stop Ella from getting on that plane? Do you?!” he shouted angrily at them. The two looked at their watch. “30 minutes.” Arron said. Chun tapped the steering wheel. He was losing patience at the traffic. “29 minutes and 50 seconds, to be exact.” Chun said. “Chun, just relax will you” Ariel said again. Then, the light turned green, and he immediately stepped on the accelerator to move his car.

After a few minutes, they reached the airport. Chun immediately got out of his car, and dashed inside. Arron and Ariel followed behind him. He looked around for Ella, but there was no sign of her. “Maybe we should ask at the information, Chun.” Ariel suggested. Chun looked at her, and nodded his head. Then, they dashed to the information counter.

“How may I help you?” a young man behind the counter asked. “Hi, I want to know if Flight B-109 Eva Airs going to Canada is still here?” Chun asked. Then man turned to his computer to check on the information. After a while, he turned to Chun. “I'm sorry, but it already left.” the young man said. Chun looked away from him, and sighed with disappointment. “I'm too late...” he said. Then, he looked at his watch, and realized that he still have 10 minutes before the flight. He turned to the information guy again. “Wait, I thought it's supposed to leave at 10:51? It's only 10:41...” he said. The information guy gave him an are-you-kidding-me look. “Sir, it left almost two hours ago.” he said. Chun was shocked at what he said. “What? Are you kidding me?” he asked. The guy shook his head. “I'm so sure of it, sir.”

Then, Chun turned to his brother, confused with what's happening. “I thought her flight is at 10:51? How come that flight left two hours ago?” he asked him. Arron just shrugged his shoulder. Ariel sighed, and folded her arms. “Arron, are you telling the truth? You might be hiding something from your brother....” Ariel said. Arron shook his head. “Ella told me clearly her flight is at 10:51...” he said. “We do have a 10:51 flight.” the information guy said. The three of them looked at him. “10:51 PM, that is. But it's not B-109. It's V-1099” he continued. Chun and Ariel glared at Arron, and Arron could only smile guiltily at them. “I think I misheard what Ella said... sorry...” he said, making a peace sign to them. Chun took a deep breath as he put his hand on his waist. “I guess the next thing to do is go to Ella's house...” Ariel said. Chun looked at her, and nodded his head. Then, the three of them left the airport.

--

“She what?!” Arron, Chun and Ariel said in unison. “You heard me. I said she's at the airport.” Jiro said. “Her flight is at 10:51. I guess her plane left by now.” Angela said. Chun shook his head. “We just got at the airport, and they told us they have a 10:51 PM flight, not 10:51 AM. And it's not B-109, it's V-1099.” Chun said. Jiro gave him a confused look. “That's weird, Ella told us her flight is B-109.” he said. Arron looked at his brother triumphantly. “Ha! I did not misheard her!” he said. Chun could only sigh. “Then where could Ella be? Where could Calvin take her?” he asked. “Where would she usually go? What would be the last place she would go before she leaves?” Ariel asked.

Angela shrugged her shoulder. “I don't know, but if I remember correctly, when she first left Taipei for Canada, she went to the places where she have lots of memories. She went to the park where we used to play as kids, she went to the old ice cream store where we usually hang out, she even went to our elementary school.” Angela said. With what Angela said, an idea hit Chun. He paused, and looked at Angela, as if she discovered something. “She went to places where she have lots of memories?” he asked. Angela nodded her head.

He looked away from her. He realized that one place where Ella could be. He doesn't know if he's right, but his instincts were telling him he could find Ella there. “I think I know where she is...” he said. All of them gave Chun a curious look. Before anyone of them could ask him a question, he dashed out of the house. Arron followed behind him. “Chun!” he called as soon as they were outside the house. Chun paused, and looked at his brother. Arron smiled at him, and threw something at him. He caught it with his hand, and as he opened his palm, he saw the ring he gave Ella. It's as if it's telling that he could find Ella to that place. “Promise me you won't let Ella go this time. Promise me that you will love her and make her. Go get her, ge. Fulfill your promise to her.” he said. Chun looked at his brother, and smiled. He nodded his head. “I sure will, Arron. I sure will.” he said.

--

Ella sat up, and looked at the altar. She then closed her eyes, and made a silent prayer. “God, I dont know why this is happening to me... I don't know why I can't be with Chun... I leave everything up to You. I know You would only want what's the best for us, and I know, you don't take something if You won't give us something much better, something that we truly deserve. If Chun and I cant be together, then I would understand. I won't ever doubt Your purpose. I could only pray for his happiness, that he would be loved by the woman he chose to be with for the rest of his life. I pray that You always look after him, now that I've decided to be out of his life... God, will you let her know that I love him so when there’s no one there, that se’s not alone? Just close his eyes and let him know my heart is beating with his...” she prayed. She made a sign of the cross, then she heard the door of the church open. She stood up and looked back, and by the door, she could see Chun standing.

As Chun opened the door, he saw Ella's familiar figure. He saw him stood up from her seat, and looked at him. He smiled to himself. He was right, for he found Ella to the place where he first made his promise to her. He walked towards her. He could not believe that after a long chase, he could finally have his own happy ending with the girl he loves. “What are you doing here?” Ella asked in a confused tone. “You're supposed to be married today. Don't tell me you left Ariel at the altar.” she continued. He smiled at her, and shook his head. “Ariel broke the wedding off. She said she just don't see herself as my wife.” he said. He reached her, and he was standing so close to her. “She said she love my brother, and not me. What else is there to do but let her go and find her happiness with Arron...” he continues. Ella was surprised at what he said, that she became speechless.

He took Ella's hand, and then he looked into her eyes. “Ariel found her happiness. Arron found his. I don't want to suffer anymore... after all, even if I have been a bad brother and a bad boss and a bad boyfriend, I also deserve to be happy. You deserve to be happy. Everyone does. Ella... you are my happiness. You are my everything. When you're with me, I felt like I'm flying a thousand feet above the ground, and without you, I can only fall. I am not a perfect man, and I need you... I need you to complete me...” he said. Ella let out a laugh at what he said. “That's the corniest line I've heard in my entire life...” she said. Chun smiled at her lovingly. He cupped her cheeks with his palm, and gazed into her big brown eyes. Ella felt being lost just by looked at him, and she felt as if she's falling in love with him again, just like the first time.

“Ella, I love you...” he said softly. “I love you, and I'm willing to take the risk just to be with you. I'm willing to do anything and everything just to be with you for the rest of my life, no matter what it takes. I'm willing to give up all that I have just to be with you. You were the one who gave the real meaning of my life, the reason why I wish to wake up each morning and see the new day. You are the reason why I live, and why I keep on living. You are the reason when I just couldn't find any reason at all. If I know what is love, it is because of you...” As Ella listens to him speak, she found her self smiling, and crying at the same time. She was crying because she was filled with joy, because she knew that the man standing before her and holding her loves her more than she loves him. “I'm a lucky girl... to be loved by someone as perfect as you...” she whispered. Chun let out a smile, and shook his head. “No, I'm luckier. And even more luckier if you tell me that you still love me, and that you're willing to be with me forever and ever.” he said.

Ella smiled, and nodded her head. “I love you too, Chun. I know that you are not perfect and nor can I claim to be either, but please believe me, when I say that I want to be by your side,to hold your hand, to treasure you in the morning and in the noon-tide, to be next to you,to be held close to your heart now and for the rest of my living years,to comfort you, dry your tears and calm your most frightening fears, to fight your battles and show no shame to scream my love for you out loud all over the land. There's no other place I would want to be with, than by your side forever and ever....” she said. Chun could feel the tear forming in his eyes. It was tears of joy, because finally, he could be with the woman he truly loves. He took something from his pocket, and then he knelt down in front of her. He took her hand, and held it.

“I'm going to make a promise again to you. A promise before God... and I swear I will never ever break this again, even if you ask me to.” he began. Then, he showed Ella her ring – the ring he gave her when he made his first promise to her. He held on to her hand and slipped the ring on her finger. “With this ring, I give you my heart, my soul, my life, my everything. You will be the only girl I'll love today and tomorrow. I promise to grow old of you, to take care of you when we're old. I promise to be a good husband, to be a good father, to be a good lover. I promise you, that I will be the first person you'll see when you wake up, and the last person you'll see before you drift into slumber. I'll do my best to always make you smile, and not to make you cry. I promise to love you, and only you, in this lifetime and in my next lifetimes.” Then, Chun looked up at Ella, and smiled at her. “If I could have just one wish, I would wish to wake up everyday to the sound of your breath on my neck, the warmth of your lips on my cheek, the touch of your fingers on my skin, and the feel of your heart beating with mine... Knowing that I could never find that feeling with anyone other than you. Will you give me that chance, Ella?” he asked. He paused and looked at her. He saw her smiling at him, and nodding her head. “Ella Chen, will you marry me?” he asked again. Ella was surprised at what he said. She was too surprised that the only thing she could do is nod her head. “I... I'll marry you Chun. I will!” she managed to say.

Chun stood up, and then, he took her into his embrace. Then, he leaned over her, and gave her a long and loving kiss on the lips.

And finally, the two found their happiness in the arms of their true love... and they will be together for the rest of their lives, for their love for each other is strong that no one can break them apart...

My Two Love, My True Love - Chapter 37

Chapter 37 – Maybe It's You

Maybe It's you, I'm thinking of
Who'll mend this broken heart of mine
It's you, I'm wishing for
Who'll be with me tonight
Someone to hold, someone to cry
Someone who'll make me feel all right
Maybe it's you all my life...

--

Chun gave Ariel a confused look. He have never seen Ariel this serious before. “What is it that you want to say?” he asked. Ariel looked away from him, and then toyed with her necklace. “Chun... do... do you really want to be married to me?” she asked. Chun let out a nervous laugh. “Of course, Ariel. I want to marry you...” he said. Ariel was silent upon hearing his answer. “But I don't think this is a good idea... I don't think I want to marry you anymore...” she thought sadly. “Is there something wrong, Ariel?” Chun asked. Ariel looked up at him, and shook her head. “Nothing's wrong.” she answered. She let out a sweet smile at him again. “Maybe I'm just jittery and nervous... I can't believe this is happening to us. I can't believe we're finally getting married.” she said.

Chun leaned down towards her, and embraced her. “We are getting married, Ariel. You will become my wife soon...” he said to her. He smiled at her, and then gave her a kiss on the cheek. Then, he took her hand, and held it. “Come one, Ariel. Everyone is waiting for us downstairs. They can't wait to see the future Mrs. Chun Yan-Wu.” Chun said. Ariel stood up from her seat, and held on to Chun's arms. “Chun, there's something else I want to ask you...” she said. Chun paused, and looked at her. “Your mom's engagement ring. You told me you'll give it to me before we get married... where is it?”

--

Ella toyed with the ring on her finger. She stared at it for a long time, and remembered the time Chun gave it to her. When he gave her that ring, he made a promise before God that he will love her for the rest of his life. “I'm giving you this ring as my promise to you... that no matter what happens, my heart will always belong to you...” she remembered Chun say. Sometimes she wondered, what could have happened if she became selfish, and took Chun away from Ariel? She wondered, what could have happened if she waited till Chun made things right for the two of them? Maybe both them would have not suffered this way. Maybe their hearts would have not broken. But she knew that even if they avoid breaking each other's heart, they will break Ariel's heart. And that's the reason why she ended their relationship.

“You've been staring at your ring for a long time, Ella...” She looked up, and saw Arron behind her. He sat beside her, and placed a glass of wine in front of her. “You're not getting bored with the party, right?” he asked worriedly. She smiled at him, and shook her head. “Ella, can I ask you something?” he said. “Sure... what is it?” she said. Arron took her hand, and looked closely at the ring on her finger. “This ring looks familiar. It looked exactly like mom's engagement ring. Did Chun gave you this ring?” he asked. Ella looked down at the ring on her finger, and then she nodded her head. “Chun gave this to me...” she said.

Arron let go of her hand. “He must really love her...” he thought. He remembered before that when their mom gave her ring to Chun, he made him promise that he will only give it to the girl who truly loves. He thought he would give it to Ariel, but then Chun gave it to Ella. “I guess my brother already told you the story behind the ring?” he asked again. Ella nodded her head again. “He said your mom told him that he will give the ring to the one he loves...” she replied. Arron looked at her for a long time. “Ella... are you sure you're willing to give up my brother for Ariel?” he asked.

Ella looked away from him. “The fact that he gave you this ring, it means that Chun loves you so much. All this time, I thought he have given it to Ariel, but it's on your finger now. My brother truly loves you Ella. Are you sure you're willing to let him go?” he asked again. “It's over between us, Arron. You know that. He's marrying Ariel... and that's how it's supposed to be.” she said. Arron let out a sigh, and just shook his head in dismay. Ella looked down on her finger again, and then took the ring out of her finger. “Arron...” she called. Arron looked back at him. She took her hand, and placed the ring on his palm. “When I'm gone... give this ring to your brother. Tell him that I don't deserve this, but his wife does. Tell him that the past year is the best time of my life. Tell him that I guess this is where our story ends, and that I'm sorry that I can't be with him...” she said. Arron looked at Ella, and then he closed his palm. “Ella, you don't have to do this...” he said. Ella shook her head. “I'm leaving soon, Arron. As soon as I leave Taipei, I'm going to start a new life. I'm going to start a life without him, and he'll be starting his own too. It's better that way... that I don't have anything that would remind me of him, except for our memories.” she said.

Arron frowned at her. “What about me? What about our friendship? Are you going to forget me just because of my brother?” he asked. “You will always have this special place in my heart, Arron. You will be my first love.” she said. Arron took her hand, and held it. He looked up at her, and stared into her eyes. “Then, can I be your last love as well?”

--

“May we have your attention please...” Jonas said over the microphone. Everyone fell silent, and eyed on the stage where Jonas is standing. “We would like to thank you all for coming tonight. Tonight is very special, not only to the Wu and Lin family, but also to these two people who celebrates their love tonight. After years of anticipating, finally, my son, Chun Yan-Wu and Ariel Lin will be getting married.” he said. With that, Chun and Ariel walked up to the stage to join Jonas, and Ariel's father, Francis. Then, Francis took the mic from Jonas and made a little speech.

“I would like to propose a toast for Chun and Ariel. May they always be happy and be in love for the rest of their lives.” Francis said as he raised his glass. “And may they give us little bundle of joys in the future.” he added. Everyone let out a laugh at what he said. After the made a toast, the couple kissed, and everyone clapped their hands.

Ella stood at the back of the crowd, and before she could see Chun kiss Ariel, she decided to walk away. Arron, who was standing beside her, followed her. “Ella!” he called as he followed her. Before she knew it, they were at the isolated part of the garden. Ella paused, then she looked back at Arron. “I'm sorry that you have to go through this... this charade...” he said as he walked towards her. Ella lowered her head, fighting back the tears forming from her eyes. “I wish I could do something for you...” he continued. Ella looked up at him, and forced a smile on her face. “I'll be OK, Arron. I guess I have to get used to it...” she said. Arron sighed, and shook his head. “Ella...” he whispered. “Look at you, Arron... you're also feeling the same way, right? But you have to see the girl you love with your brother...” she said. Arron shook his head again. He walked up to him, and then put his hands on her shoulder. “No, you're wrong, Ella...”

He cupped her cheeks with his two hands, and looked at her into her eyes. “I can't bear seeing the girl I love being hurt by my brother. I can't bear seeing you like this, El.” he said. Ella turned away from him. She knew where this conversation is going to again. “Arron, we talked about this. You know that I can't give you that chance. Arron, you can't lie to yourself. You are in love with Ariel. You don't love me.” she said. “Then, just give me a chance.” he said. “Give me a chance, Ella... I'll prove to you that I'm worthy of you. I'll never hurt you like Chun did. Give us a chance, and help me forget about Ariel. Ella... please love me again. It doesn't matter how long it will take... just love me again. I can help you through this... don't shut me out of your life like what you're doing to my brother.” he said. He reached for his hand, and held it tight. “Ella, you are important to me. You're the only friend I have. If you leave me, then I'll go crazy. Please...” he pleaded.

She looked up at him, and she could see him on the verge of tears. She doesn't want to leave Arron this way, but she can't turn back now. She will be leaving Taipei soon and start a new life. Maybe it was a selfish decision of hers to leave without even considering the feelings of the people around her, especially Arron who is feeling the same pain as she does. “I'm leaving on the day of your brother's wedding.” she said. “If you want to be with me, then I'll wait for you. We can start a new life in Canada... just the two of us, Arron. And maybe, just maybe, I can learn to love you again. I will wait for you, Arron...” she said. Arron smiled at her, and nodded his head. “I'll come to you as soon as the wedding is over. We'll start a new life together. I promise you will not regret choosing me, Ella...” he said. “But you have to do me one last thing, Arron.” Ella said. Arron gave her a confused look. “If you will leave for good, then you have to tell how you feel for Ariel. You have to tell her that you love her. That's my only condition for you. You have to promise me that...” she said.

Arron was surprised at what he said. It's hard on his part to do what Ella asked him to do, but then he have to do it, to end everything. So that he could start a new life with Ella without any regret, and maybe this is what Ella wants him to do. “I promise you, Ella. And after this, I will love you with all my heart.” he said. He then took Ella into his embrace, and kissed her on the forehead.

What he didn't know was Chun walked up to them as soon as he embraced Ella. He could feel his heart breaking upon seeing the girl he loves in the arms of his own brother. “I guess this is really the end for the two of us. You have already choses Arron, and there's nothing I can do but let you be with him...” he thought sadly. He turned his back on him, and from afar, he could see his wife-to-be smiling happily at their guests. “I guess this is my fate... to be with Ariel, and for Ella to be with Arron. I hope one day... we can be happy with the people we chose to spend the rest of our lives with...” he thought. He looked up at the night sky, and he saw a shooting star. He closed his eyes, and made a wish, and he wished the someday, he could be with Ella once again.

--

Two days before the wedding...

Ariel heard a soft knock on the door. She stood up from her chair, and opened it. She saw Arron standing outside her room. “Oh, Arron... what's up?” she said as she smiled at him. “Hey, Ariel. Can we go out?” he asked. Ariel nodded her head, and then got out of her room.

Arron took Ariel to the nearby park, where they used to play as kids. “So, why did you take me here, Arron?” Ariel asked. Arron smiled shyly at her. “Well, I want to reminisce our childhood memories. Besides, it's been a while since we last came here.” he said. “Thanks for taking me out, Arron. You don't know how pressured I feel with the wedding, and everything...” she said. They walked towards the swing and Ariel sat on it. Arron gave her a confused look. “You? Pressured?” he asked. Ariel nodded her head. “It's like all my life, everyone have been planning our wedding, and now the time have come. I'm getting married to Chun... and I feel so pressured about it...” she said sadly. “You're not having second thoughts about marrying my brother, don't you?” he asked. Ariel looked up at him, and smiled. “Do you really want to know, Arron?” she asked. Arron nodded his head. “I am having second thoughts about marrying him...” she said.

Arron was surprised at what she said. He sat at the swing next to hers, and looked at her. “Why?” he asked. “I know all my life, this is what I'm supposed to do – be the wife of Wu Jian Ling's grandson. I've readied myself for it, but since I went abroad to study, I realized that there's more to life than getting tied down. There are still a lot of things I want to experience... places I want to go... food I want to eat... but then I've been putting this thing off for a long time so I decided that it's about time I marry your brother.” she said. She looked at him, and stared into his face. “And besides... you have Ella...” she thought. “I guess ge will understand... I don't think he will just let you stay inside the mansion and wait for him like any dutiful wife. Maybe the two of you can talk things through...” he said. Ariel smiled, and shook his head. “There's no need to talk to your brother. I've been a wanderer for how many years. I guess it's about time for me to settle down, have kids, and be a good wife.” she said.

Ariel looked at him, and smiled. “I heard you'll be going with Ella to Canada after the wedding...” she said. Arron nodded his head. “I'm fixing my papers. As soon as everything is settled, I'll follow her in Canada.” he said Ariel looked away from him, her smile slowly fading from her face. “I guess you really love her... you even decided to follow her and to live with her in another country. Ella is a very lucky girl...” she said. “This isn't the first time I did that.” Arron said. Ariel looked back at him, confused with what he said. “What do you mean?” she asked.

He took a deep breath. It's about time that he tell how he feels for Ariel, after all, it's Ella's condition for letting him go with her in Canada. “This isn't the first time I followed a girl to a foreign country...” he said. Then, he looked at her. He gazed into her eyes, and began to speak again. “I followed my first love in another country. I lived with her for a year. And it's the happiest moment of my life...” he said. Ariel was confused at what he said. “I didn't know about that...” she said. “You know, Ariel. I was with you in the US, remember?” he said. Ariel could feel her heart beating fast after hearing what Arron said. She never expected their conversation would end this way. Then, Arron took her hand, and looked into her eyes.

“There's something I want to tell you, Ariel. And I have to say it now, or I will never have this chance again.” he began. Ariel looked at him, waiting for him to speak. “Ariel, I love you. I've been in love with you since we were kids... but I didn't have the courage to tell you that because of Chun. I know you love Chun, and you know how our relationship was before. I've been secretly in love with you all this time... and it was breaking my heart whenever I see you with him. There's never a day I didn't wish I am Chun... because I want to feel what it's like to be loved by you.” he said. Ariel could hear her heart beating faster. She still could not believe what she heard, that Arron have loved her all this time. “I'm not asking anything from you in return. All I want is to tell you how I feel, Ariel. I love you, I really do. And now that you're getting married to your brother, there's nothing in this world I would want, but for you to be happy with me brother...” he said.

He moved closer to her, and as he closed his eyes, he kissed her on the lips. It was a long and loving kiss. As Arron kisses him, a tear rolled from Ariel's eyes. It was tears of joy, and of sadness, of confusion. She was happy that Arron loves her too. She's sad because it seems to be too late for the two of them. And all of a sudden, with Arron's confession and his kiss, she became confused more than ever. She wanted to be with Arron, be with him forever, but she have to marry Chun. If only Arron told her what he felt for her earlier, then maybe she have not decided to marry his brother. Maybe they could still have their chance.

Ariel broke the kiss, and as she opened her eyes, she saw the guilt on Arron's face. “I'm sorry...” he whispered. “I'm sorry... I'm sorry for kissing you... I'm sorry for loving you so much... I'm sorry for making you confused... I'm sorry...” he said. Then he stood up and walked away from her. Ariel could only watch as the man she loves leaves him. “Arron...” she whispered. Tears began to cascade from her eyes as she watched him leave. “Don't leave me... I... I love you too...” she whispered. She wished that her whisper can be heard by Arron, but it's too late, for Arron is already gone.

--

A day before the wedding.

Chun sat on his bed. He looked at the phone in his hand, staring at the picture of him and Ella, which he made as his wallpaper. “Ella...” he whispered. His finger traced onto her smiling face. When was the last time he saw that smile on her face? When was the last time he have ever seen her? Since Ariel came home, Ella have been avoiding him. She's always with Arron, and since his own brother threatened him not to go near him, he couldn't even have a moment with her alone.

He is getting married the next day. He knew this should happen, but he is hesitating to marry Ariel. He knew inside him that he is just forcing himself to love Ariel. It's Ella that he truly loves, and not Ariel, but Ella gave up on them. She doubted him and his promises. And now, it's over between them. It's too late to go back and correct things.

Just then, his phone rang. As he looked on the screen, he saw Ella's name flashing. He immediately answered the call. “Ella...” he said. “Chun...” he heard her say sadly. “Ella... I... I was supposed to call you... there are some things that I want to tell you...” he said. There was silence on the other line, and he was scared that Ella have already ended the call. Then, he heard her muffled sobs. “Chun, no matter what happened, always remember that I love you. Being with you is the happiest moment of my life... and I don't regret a thing. I don't regret being with you. I... I hope you'll find your happiness with Ariel...” she said. He closed his eyes, and let a tear roll down his cheeks. “I love you, Ella...” he whispered. “I'm sorry that we can't be together...” he continued. “After this, I'll keep my distance from you, Chun. You won't hear from me anymore... I guess I've already said what I've wanted to say... it's just that I want to hear your voice one last time...” she said. Then, the call ended, and all Chun could hear the the busy signal. “Ella...” he called. He looked at his phone, and ended the call. He stared at her picture once again.

Then, he closed his eyes. He made a mistake when he started a relationship with Ella. He made a mistake when he let her go. And now, he's making another mistake by marrying Ariel. Ariel, like Ella, deserves something more than this. He just couldn't force himself to love her again. He can't be with a girl whom he doesn't love.

As he opened his eyes, he made a decision. He decided to finally make things right. And he decided not to make another mistake - the mistake that he will regret for the rest of his life.

--

Ariel looked at her wedding. Then, she walked up to it, and took the veil. She put the veil on her head, and looked at herself on the full-length mirror. She closed her eyes, and she imagined herself on her wedding day. She could see herself walking down the aisle in her long white gown. She cold imagine the cherry blossom petals floating around the place as she walked. She could hear the choir singing her song. As she looked up at the altar, she could see the man she love patiently waiting for her. She imagined herself smiling sweetly at him as she gets closer to him. And once she reached him, she would take his hand as they face God together.

She imagined her groom is Arron.

She opened her eyes, and stared herself at the mirror. Since his confession yesterday, Arron have not called her, and it was breaking her heart. She wants to tell him that she also feels the same way, but it seems that Arron won't give her that chance. She wants to tell him not to go and follow Ella, but he seems decided to go far away from her. “I can't let that happen...” she told herself as she shook her head. She imagine her future with Arron, and not with Chun, and he know she will make the biggest mistake of her life if he marries Chun. She doesn't want to get stuck with a loveless marriage, for she knows it will be hell for her. She wanted to be with Arron forever.

She's willing to take the risk just to be with Arron. Chun, his family and her family can be mad at her, but she doesn't care anymore. Arron is her happiness, and nothing can stop her now to be with her happiness. As she took off the veil on her head, she finally made a decision – no wedding will happen the next day, for she will be with Arron.

--

Chun went down the stairs, and as he headed to the door, he was surprised to see Ariel. “Ariel! We're not supposed to see each other. Did you know that if the groom sees the bride before the wedding, then there won't be any wedding that will happen?” he said. Ariel just nodded her head. “That's why I am here, Chun... I want to tell you something...” she said. Chun took a deep breath, and put his hand on his waist. “Since you're here, there's something I have to tell you...”
“Listen to me, Chun...”
“Listen to what I've got to say first, Ariel...”
“This can't wait.”
“This can't wait too...”

They both paused, and looked at each other. “Ariel...” he called. “Chun...” Ariel called. Then, they both spoke at the same time. “I can't marry you.” they said in unison. Both of them were surprised at what they said. “You can't marry me?” they both asked again in unison. Then, the two of them let out a sigh of relief.

My Two Love, My True Love - Chapter 36

Chapter 36 – We Belong

Hoping that someday
For that hello, just a simple hello
And maybe tomorrow
I'm the reason you smile
And you make my day...

--

Ella carefully took the things on her desk, and then put it on a box. “Are you sure nothing can change your mind from resigning?” Joe said sadly as she watched her. Ella looked at her, and let out a faint smile. “Nothing can change my mind, Joe...” she said. “It's just sad that you have to leave us. Tell me, did the other company offer you a much better pay than what the boss gives you?” she asked. Ella just laughed at her. “Of course not, Joe. It's not another job... it's just that I get tired of the work and I need a really long vacation.”
“You can ask boss for an extended vacation if you want...”
“I can't ask him that, Joe...”
“Yes, you can. You're his protegee. He always says that.”
“Even if I can ask him that, I'd rather not. Besides, I haven't seen my family in a while. I want to be with them for a really long time.”

Joe smiled sadly at her. Then, she held her hand. “Promise me you'll keep in contact with me.” she said. Ella nodded her head. “Of course, I will. And hey, you are my best friend's girlfriend. You'll hear from me always, I assure you that.” she said. “And if not?” Joe asked, giving her a dubious look. “Then, go and kill Calvin.” she said. The two girls laughed for a while, then they paused. Teary-eyed, the two of them hugged each other. “I'll miss working with you, El... take care of yourself always, OK?” Joe said. “You too, Joe. Don't overwork yourself...” Ella whispered. Joe let go of her, and smiled at her.

Ella took her box. As she was about to go, Chun got out of his office. “Ms. Ella, please come inside my office for a while.” he asked. Ella looked at him, and she could see the sadness in his eyes. “Yes, Mr. Wu.” she said. She followed Chun inside the office, and as she closed the door behind her, the two of them became silent. “I guess we really can't stop you from leaving, huh?” Chun finally said. “I... I have to do this, Mr. Wu.” she said. Chun nodded his head. Then, he walked to his desk, and then took a beige envelope from his desk. He turned around, and handed it to Ella. It was an invitation for his engagement party. “Everyone in this office gets this invitation for my engagement party. I still consider you part of my team even if you have already resigned. I hope to see you there, Ella.” he said. Ella stared at the envelope in his hand, and then she took it. “Thank you for the invitation, Mr. Wu... but I don't think this is a good idea...” she said. “I want you there, Ella. I want to see you there...” he said. Ella looked up at him, her pain reflecting in her eyes. “Do you really want to hurt me, Chun? Even if I was the one who decided to break it off with you, it's not easy for me to see you with Ariel...” she said in a soft voice. Chun paused, and looked at her. “And do you think it's easy for me to see you with my brother?” he asked.

Ella looked away from him. If there's something she hates about being all alone with Chun right now, it would this endless confrontation about their feelings. “We already agreed on this, but even if it's a mutual decision, I still couldn't help but feel hurt, Ella. I still love you... but you pushed me away. And I feel jealous because Arron had been doing his best to gain your love back. I'm scared that you will fall for him again...” he said. He walked closer to her, and held her shoulders. He looked into her eyes, as he was trying his best not to break down in front of her. “I know that even if I marry Ariel, it will always be you whom I love. She may have me but my heart will always be yours. And it will always be yours for the rest of our lives...” he whispered. “Stop this, Chun. We both this is all over. Whatever feelings you have left for me, you should give it to Ariel... because she's going to be your wife.” she said. Chun just stared at her. Ella took a deep breath, and then turned her back on him. “I'll be there on your engagement party, Mr. Wu. Congratulations.” She reached for the door. As she turned the knob, She closed her eyes, fighting the tears that's forming at the corner of her eye.

--

Arron sat on the couch. They were at Genie's shop, as he was accompanying Ariel to try out her wedding dress. He was hesitant to go with Ariel, but he just couldn't resist her. She badgered him until he gave in, telling him that he wants to get his opinion first before letting Chun see how he looks like in her wedding dress. “What's taking Ariel so long to put on her wedding gown?” he thought as he looked at his watch. He took out his phone, and saw a text message from Ella, reminding him of their date that afternoon. He smiled to himself as he read her message. He was glad that somehow, Ella is giving him that chance to mend her heart. If Ella is determined to forget Chun, then he is also determined to make her his girl, and the more that he is determined to forget his feelings for Ariel.

“Arron...” he heard Ariel call him. “Yes, Ariel?” he asked. He stood up, and wen to the fitting room, where Ariel is. “I'm not so sure about this wedding gown...” she said with hesitation. “Why? Your arms looks flabby?” he joked, letting out a small laugh. “Yeah, right... I think I look fat in this gown...” Ariel answered sadly. Arron smiled to himself, and shook his head. “Any gown you wear would look good on you, Ariel. And besides, isn't that your dream wedding gown?” he asked again. “I'm not really sure, Arron... I look awful...” she said. Arron folded his arms, and sighed. “Come out, Ariel, let me see.” he said. Ariel peeked from the curtain of the fitting room, and pouted at him. “Promise me you won't laugh at me...” she said. Arron raised his right hand, and gave him an assuring smile. “Cross my heart, hope to die.”

Ariel slowly opened the curtain of the fitting room, and revealed herself to Arron. She was wearing a long white tube gown with small flowery design at the skirt. On top of her long curly hair, she wore her veil. She looked shyly at Arron, her cheeks blushing pink. She bit her lips as she looked at him. “What do you think?” she asked. Arron could not answer immediately. The way she looked made him speechless. She was not beautiful. She is the most beautiful woman he have seen in his entire life. There was this glow around her that could almost make his eyes blind. As she smiled at him shyly, he felt his heart melting as he gazed at her. He was stunned by her. He was mesmerized by her. And her beauty just made the words get stuck in his throat.

“I knew it! I don't look good in this gown...” she said after not hearing a word from him. She reached for her head to take off her veil, but Arron stopped her by holding her hand. Before he knew it, he was standing too close to her. He was too close that their lips almost met in a kiss. He gazed into hers, and he felt being lost in it. As Ariel blink, he noticed how her long eyelashes flutter like a butterfly. He stared down her face, and then gazed into her lips. There was this urge in him to kiss those cherry lips, but he have to stop himself from doing so. Meanwhile, Ariel also found herself staring into Arron's face. He was too close to her, that she could feel his heart beating faster. “You... you're beautiful...” he whispered to her. His face moved closer to her, and then she closed her eyes. She could feel Arron's sweet breath as he moved closer. And then, their lips touch. She waited for his kiss. She was waiting for him to kiss her lovingly.

Before their lips could finally meet for the kiss, there heard a loud ring from the phone. They both turned away from each other, as if waking up from a dream. Arron felt his heart racing inside his chest upon realizing what he was about to do. “What the hell am I thinking?” he thought to himself. He took a deep breath as he brushed his hair with his fingers. Then, he looked away from her. Ariel looked away from him as well. “I... I'm sorry...” Arron said. Both of them looked at each other at the same time. “I'm sorry too, Arron...” Ariel said. Both of them became silent again, waiting for each other to say something. “I think I'll go change...” Ariel said. Arron nodded his head. “O-ok.. I'll wait for you outside.” Arron said. As soon as Arron have gone out of the fitting room, Ariel closed the curtain behind her. She looked at herself on the mirror, and let out a sigh of frustration. “What the hell am I thinking? I almost kissed Arron?” she scolded herself silently. She shook her head, and then she began to take off her veil.

--

“You're awfully quiet, Arron.” Ella said as they were taking a stroll at the park. Arron put his hands on his pockets, then smiled at her. “Sorry. Guess, you're getting bored with our date, right?” he asked. Ella shook her head. “I guess you're a little tired, helping Ariel out with the wedding...” she said. They walked to the nearest bench, and sat on it. “I guess I am... I really didn't want to help then out, but I can't let Ariel sense that there is something wrong between me and Chun...” he said. Ella looked at him, and then sighed. “You're still mad at your brother, huh?” she asked. Arron nodded his head. “I can't believe he's such a jerk...”
“Arron, you have to forgive your brother. Don't be mad at him just because of what happened... and besides, I'm also to blame for what happened.”
“It's different, Ella. Chun broke your heart, and at the same he is breaking Ariel's heart...”
“So it means you can't forgive Chun for cheating on Ariel?”

Arron fell silent at her question. “Arron, Chun and I are to blame. We betrayed Ariel while she's gone...” she said. “You made things right when you ended your relationship with him. And besides, it's not entirely your fault. Chun is still to blame....” Arron said. “You're blaming your brother because despite everything that happened, he still chose to marry Ariel, am I right?” Ella asked. Again, Arron fell silent, and could not answer her question. “You're still mad at your brother, not because he broke my heart, but because I asked him to marry Ariel, and he agreed with me. You're mad because you still love Ariel, and you can't stand seeing her with your brother... am I right?” she asked again. “Ariel has nothing to do with this...” Arron said as he looked away from her. “She does. Because you still love her. And she is the reason why you can't forgive your brother...” Ella said.

She reached for his hand, and held it. “When we fall in love, we become selfish. Too selfish that we forget where we really stand in the life of the person we love. I let your brother go, because I have to realize where I stand in his life... that I am just his last fling before he marries Ariel. He and Ariel are meant to be together for the rest of their lives. Arron, you should also realize where you stand in Ariel's life. I don't want to say this, but I think Ariel only sees you as the little brother she never had. Because eventually, you will be her little brother. Whatever it is that you feel for her, no matter how much love you have for her in your heart, you have to let go of it... because it will break you apart, Arron. I can see it's already breaking you apart, and I can't bear seeing you being full of hatred just because of it.” she told her. Arron looked at her, and then he took a deep breath. “What should I do? I love her, Ella... ever since we were young, I have been in love with Ariel...” he said sadly. He looked away from her again, and at the other side of the park, he saw two kids happily playing at the sandbox. “I have always loved Ariel. I was always with her, playing with her, helping her to stand up when she fall, making her smile when she cries... When grandpa said one of us will marry Ariel in the future, I thought, hey, this is my chance. I love Ariel, and I'll do everything to prove to her that I am worthy of her love. But Chun got in my way. Before I could confess my love to Ariel, he took her away from me. I can't do anything because I could see she loves my brother very much. I have always kept my love for her in silence, but it always hurts me to see her with my brother. Her smile could have been mine... her kiss could have been mine... those sweet words she whispers in his ears could have been mine... her embrace could have been mine... but Chun took away everything from me. She took her away from me...”

As Arron speaks, Ella could see the tears forming at the corner of his eyes. She could feel the pain Arron is feeling as he speaks. “I have always wished Ariel could see me in the same way he sees my brother, but what hurts the most is that she only regards me as her friend, as her brother, and nothing more. Everyday of my life, I wish I could be in my brother's shoes so that she could love me too... but I am not Chun. I am not as perfect as he is. I guess my love for her will remain to be in silence for the rest of my life. And I have to face the fact that I could never ever have her...” he said. Arron looked back at Ella, and smiled sadly at her. “Now, you know why I hate my brother. I hate him not only because of his being strict on me before. I hate him not only because of what he have done to you. I hate him because he had the one thing I've always wanted in this life, and that is the love of the girl I've been in love with since God knows when.”

Ella couldn't help but feel sorry for him. All this time, Arron have been suffering silently because of his love for Ariel, and yet he can't do anything about it. “I understand now, Arron...” she whispered to him. She squeezed his hand, and as Arron looked at her, she smiled. “But have to learn to forgive your brother someday. Chun doesn't have the slightest clue about how you feel for Ariel. And what he have done to you before, controlling your life... I know he did it for your sake. Even if he's like that, he cares for you a lot. He loves you, Arron, and he's always after your happiness...” she said. “How can he be after my happiness if he took away my happiness, Ella?” he asked. “He let you go, remember? He let you go to pursue your own dreams, even if it's against his will. He did that because he realized he's hurting you...” Ella said. Arron just nodded his head. “You're right... and my brother didn't have a clue how I really feel for his girlfriend...” he said in a low voice. “Promise me, Arron...” Ella told him. “Promise me you'll forgive your brother. Promise me you won't be mad at him anymore. It wasn't entirely his fault, Arron... please promise me that...” she asked. Arron smiled and nodded his head. “One of these days, Chun and I will talk about things...” he said.

Ella let out a sigh of relief upon hearing his answer. “I'm glad, Arron. At least it wouldn't me worry much, especially after I've gone to Canada.” she said. With that, Arron gave her a confused look. “What do you mean, El?” he asked. Ella let out a sad smile at her best friend. “I already resigned, Arron. And I'm leaving for Canada in a few months' time. And maybe it's for good.”

--

It is the night of the engagement party. A month before Chun and Ariel's wedding.

Ella and Arron stood before the Wu Mansion's doors. They watched as the people from the high society entered the mansion for this grand celebration. “I never thought this party could be this lavish...” Ella said. “Of course. It's the engagement party of Ariel Lin, the daughter of the richest man in Taiwan, and Chun Yan-Wu, the most youngest CEO in Taipei. What do we expect?” Arron said. Ella looked up at him, and then he smiled at her. “Kidding aside, knowing my brother, he doesn't want a party as lavish as this one. But it's a tradition, you know...” he said. Ella nodded her head in agreement. “And I can't believe they'll be getting married in a month's time...” she said sadly. The happy smile on Arron's face became a sad one at what Ella said. “Yes, you're right... Ariel will be Chun's wife in a month's time...” he said sadly.

Arron took Ella's hand, and held it tight. He looked at her, and forced a smile on his face. “Come on, let's smile tonight even both of us feel hurt. Let's be happy for Chun and Ariel.” he said. Ella smiled back at him, and nodded her head. “That's the spirit.” she whispered. Both of them let out a laugh, and then headed at the mansion's garden, where the party is. On their way, they bumped into Grandpa Wu, Arron's dad, and Chun himself. “Ella, dear! I'm so glad you were able to come!” Grandpa said. Ella smiled at the old man, and then she gave him a kiss on the cheek. “I missed you grandpa.” she told him. “I missed having you around, Ella. Tell me, are you too busy with work that's why you can't visit your old man?” the old man asked in a hurt tone. Ella simply shook her head. “No, grandpa... it's just that there are a lot of things that I have to work on before I leave for Canada...” she said. All of them were surprised at what she said. “You're leaving for Canada?” Uncle Jonas asked. Ella smiled at him, and nodded her head. “My parents wants me to stay there... so I'm going to try my luck out there.” she said.

As she looked at Chun, she noticed his face became pale after her announcement. He looked away from her, still shocked at what she just said. “So, that's the reason why you resigned. Anyway, I wish you luck, Ella. If you decide to come back here in Taiwan, you're always welcome her in the Wu household, OK?” grandpa said. Ella nodded her head. “Thanks, grandpa.” she said, giving him a hug. “I think I'll go and see how Ariel is doing upstairs...” Chun said. Without waiting for their answer, Chun walked away from them, and went upstairs to see his fiancee.

--

Meanwhile, Ariel was inside one of the guest room of the Wu Mansion. She was sitting in front of the vanity mirror, staring at her reflection again. “Is this really the right thing to do? Is marrying Chun the right thing to do?” she asked herself. There is a hesitation inside her heart. She doesn't love Chun, not anymore. Not with the same love she is feeling towards Arron, but she can't get out of this engagement. Everything have been planned for the two of them, even before they were born. They were engaged by their parents even before they got out of this word, and she know if she broke off their engagement, it will enrage her family, as well as Chun's family.

Her grandfather and Chun's grandfather have been best friends since they were young. So does her father and Chun's father. This marriage will bind their families together, making them more powerful, not only in Taiwan, but in the whole of Asia. She have to marry him against her wishes, she just have to. She did love Chun. She loved him so much before. Even when they were still kids, she had a huge crush on him despite their age gap. When her parents told her that she will marry one of the Yan-Wu boys when she grows up, she decided it will be Chun that she will marry.

And Chun chose her to be his bride. When Chun asked her to be his girlfriend, she did not have any second thoughts in accepting him. She is the happiest and the luckiest girl whenever she is with him. Even if there are a lot of girls vying for his attention, he never looked at those girls. Instead, he only had his eyes on her. He have always made her feel beautiful, in spite of all her insecurities, and that's what he loves about her. Distance may have separated the two of them, but their love for each other still grows stronger.

That is, until she left abroad with Arron.

There are a lot of things in Arron that she loved, something that she couldn't see in Chun. Chun did care for her, but Arron never left her side until he's sure that she's all right. Chun never took his eyes off her, but Arron looked at her as if his world revolved around her. Chun may have made her feel special, but it will always be Arron that made her feel beautiful inside and out. Arron was there when she was sick, taking care of her. He was there when she was drunk dead, carried her on his back till they reached home. He always make her favorite dish. Arron would do anything and everything to make her happy. She wanted so much to be with him, but she already made her choice to be with Chun. Nothing hurts her the most than that day Arron told her he decided to go home and ask Ella to be his girl. And so, she also decided that it's about time for her to marry Chun. She made that decision because she was hurt of Arron's decision.

“Ariel, are you ready?” she heard Chun said. She looked by the door, and saw him walking inside the room. She smiled at him sweetly, and nodded her head. “I am now.” she said. Chun smiled at her, and walked towards her seat. “You're really beautiful tonight...” he said, looking at her through her reflection on the mirror. “Thanks...” she said shyly. Then, Chun took something out from his pocket – a diamond necklace. “This would make you even more beautiful, Ariel...” he said. He put the necklace on her neck, and then he looked at her reflection, satisfied at how she looked that night. “See? You looked more beautiful with that necklace.” Chun said, smiling at him. Ariel touched the diamond pendant on her neck, and smiled shyly at him. “Chun...” she called. She looked up at him. Chun waited for her to speak. “There's something I want to tell you...”

My Two Love, My True Love - Chapter 35

Chapter 35 – Before I Let You Go

Letting love go is never easy
But I love you so that's why I set you free
I know someday, somehow I'll find a way
To leave it all behind me
Guess it wasn't meant to be
But baby, before I let you go
I want to say I love you...

--

Arron punched his brother hard on the face, making Chun fall on the floor. He opened his eyes, and Chun saw his brother walking up to him. He could see the anger registered on his face. “Arron?” he asked in a confused tone. “Why?” he asked him. “Of all people, why does it have to be you, my own brother?” he continued. Chun stood up from the floor, and faced him. “What do you mean?” he asked again. Arron clenched his fist again, and then punched his brother again. “You had an affair with Ella! How could you do this, Chun? How could you?!” Arron shouted again. Chun was shocked at what he said. He never thought that his brother would eventually found out about his relationship with Ella while he was gone, and he felt guilty. He knew he have hurt his brother with what he did.

“You are the bastard who broke her heart. And you are the same bastard who was cheating on Ariel. How can you hurt them? How can you be selfish, Chun?” Arron shouted angrily at him. Chun took a deep breath, and closed his eyes for a second. Then, as he opened it, he turned to face his brother with an apologetic look. “I'm sorry...” he whispered. This made Arron more furious. “Sorry? You're sorry?! That's all you've got to say, huh?! You're sorry that you broke Ella's heart, and then you're breaking Ariel's heart as well?” Arron shouted again. “I did not mean to do it!” Chun shouted at him. “You didn't? So while me and Ariel were gone, you were flirting with Ella? Are you flirting with other girls besides her? Or maybe, all the time that Ariel is gone, you're cheating on her with some random girls! Maybe you had other girlfriends before aside from her. Maybe -”

Chun couldn't help it anymore, and he punched Arron in his face. He was so angry at his accusations. All this time, he have been faithful with Ariel, and he only made a mistake once. Now, his brother is accusing him of something he have not done. “I never cheated Ariel. I never did. I loved her with all my heart.” he began. Arron remained unmoved, he never dared to face his brother, or listen to what Chun have to say. “I only made a mistake once, and just now... so don't dare accusing me of things I have not done!” he said. Arron let out a mocking laugh, and then faced him this time. “So, does that mean I should not accuse you of having an affair with Ella and breaking her heart? Damn you, Chun! I heard everything! I heard everything that I have to know between you and Ella!”
“I did not mean to hurt her!”
“But you did!”
“She was the one who broke my heart first!”
“You never know what she's gone through!”
“Do you?”
“I know!”
“You don't know the whole story, Arron.”
“Then tell me! Make me understand! Tell me the goddamn truth, Chun! Tell me!”

Chun took another deep breath to calm himself. “it wasn't my intention to fall in love with her. I... I just did. Before I knew it... I was falling helplessly in love with Ella...” he said calmly. He walked slowly towards him as he looked into his eyes. “Arron, I love Ella, and I know having a relationship with her is wrong. But I love her enough to make things right... but she didn't give me that chance. She broke up with me as soon as Ariel and you came home, and you know why? Because she felt guilty for having an affair with me... she doesn't want to hurt Ariel, so she chose to hurt me instead.” Chun said. As he speaks he didn't notice the tears falling from his eyes. “I was more than willing to with her. I was willing to break off my engagement with Ariel, face grandpa's wrath, just to be with her forever... I am willing to give up everything I have just to be with her... but she gave up on us because she knew what we had is wrong, and that she will breaking Ariel's heart and your heart.” he continued.

Arron never took off his glare on his brother as he listened to him speak. “Do you still love Ella?” he asked. Chun closed his eyes and nodded his head. “If loving her is a mistake, then I would rather be wrong for the rest of my life...” he said softly. “Damn you!” Arron shouted at him again. “Damn you, Chun! How can you be selfish? Ariel loves you so much, that she gave up the life she have always wanted just to be your wife! Can't you see how much she have sacrificed just to be with you forever? She had a great job abroad! She was enjoying the time of her life there! But what did she do? She turned her back on it just because of you! You're not even worth even 1% of her love, Chun... because you are selfish. You have always be selfish! You don't deserved to be love by Ariel or Ella!” he shouted at him again. Then, he stormed out of the mansion, leaving his brokenhearted brother behind.

--

Ella heard a soft knock on the door. She got up from her seat, and opened it. As she opened the door, she saw Arron. His face was emotionless as he looked up at her, it was like he was to tired after a long battle. “Can we talk?” he asked. Ella nodded her head, and let Arron in. “I'm sorry about what happened a while ago...” Ella told him. Arron did not answer her and kept silent. “I... I was feeling unwell, I hope your brother told you why I left you early...” she continued. “Ge never came back for Ariel after the two of you talked. He left Ariel with me again...” he said with a hint of anger in his tone. “Maybe... maybe he had some urgent things to do at the office...” she said softly.

Arron looked up at her, and Ella could clearly see the anger in his face. “I know, Ella... I already know about you and my brother...” he said. Ella turned her back on him, and hugged herself. Now she knows why Arron came for her – he wanted an explanation for what happened between her and Chun. “Why him, Ella? Why did you have to fall in love with my brother?” Arron asked. Ella simply shook her head in confusion. “I don't know, Arron... I don't know...” she whispered. “How can't you know? Ella, you should know! What made you fall for him? What did he do that made you love him so much?” he asked her. Ella turned to face him, and then a tear rolled down her face. She smiled sadly at him. “Little things, Arron... little things...” she said. Arron gave her a confused look.

“I never thought I would fall in love with your brother, because he is the exact opposite of my dream guy. He's the exact opposite of you, Arron... but then as days passes by, I realized that he's not as bad as I thought he was. He is strict, but he is strict because he wanted to bring out the best in me. He can be bossy, but sometimes his bossiness means that he's just playing a prank on me. He loved annoying me, and when I'm really annoyed, he always makes this cute scared expression. He is protective... to protective at times... but it's because he cares for me a lot. He can be top serious at work, but he can also be as playful as a kid. He always keeps his feelings inside, but he showed me that he can be weak sometimes...” she said. As she was speaking, she was smiling sadly and recalling the times she had with Chun. She never thought that reliving their memories again would make her cry once more. “He never smiles, but he had the sweetest smile I have ever seen in my life. He can be such a scaredy-cat at times, especially when it's dark. He is a pervert, especially when he drinks too much, but he is a real gentleman. He was always there beside me, looking after me. Never did he left my side, especially when I needed him the most...” she continued.

As he looked at Ella, he couldn't help but cry as well. Seeing her like this breaks his heart as well, but what broke his heart the most is the fact that his brother fell in love with her, and with the girl he loves the most – Ariel. “You still love my brother, don't you?” he asked. Ella closed her eyes, and nodded her head. “It will always be him... he will always have my heart...” she said. Arron took a deep breath, and closed his eyes, not wanting to cry in front of her anymore. “Why does he always have to take away those that I want? Why can't he let me be happy? Why do you have to love him?” he asked. “Arron, if I had the will, I would have stayed in love with you... but I couldn't help but fall for him.” she whispered. He lowered his head, and shook it. He couldn't handle the things he found out this day. He doesn't want to understand anything anymore. “I'm sorry, Ella...” he said. Ella looked at him, and saw him heading out the door. She immediately followed him, worried about what he might do. “Arron, wait!” she shouted. As she got out of the house, she saw him inside his car, leaving her.

“Can I come in?” Chun heard his father ask. Jonas did not wait for his son's reply, and he entered his room. Chun sat on his bed with his arms hugging his knees. His head was bowed down, and Jonas could tell that his son is crying. “I heard everything, Chun...” he said. Chun looked up at him, and gave him a blank stare. “I won't ask you anything about what happened, Chun. All I want to know is how you are feeling.” he said. Chun looked away from his father. His tears kept on falling from his eyes. Jonas sat beside him, and watched as his son cry. “You have to let it out, Chun. You can't always be strong, remember that.” he said. “I'm wrong, I know that dad... and my mistake made my younger hate me a lot... I hurt Ariel, and I hurt his best friend...” he said in a low voice. “Then, you should correct what you've done... but it seems to me that you're making another mistake, Chun.” Jonas said.

Chun looked up at his father, confused by what he said. “Chun, you are making another mistake in marrying Ariel, if you knew inside your heart that it's Ella that you really love. Break up with her while you still have time, son...” he said. Chun shook his head. “It's too late now, dad... Ella... she's out of my life. She won't come back for me. I have let her go... I know I've been selfish dad... and I can't be selfish by asking Ella to stay and wait for me till I make things right. She deserves to be happy... even if it means I'm not part of her happiness anymore...” he said. “But are you sure this is what Ella wants as well?” Jonas asked. Chun nodded his head. “She wants me to marry Ariel. She wants me to be with her. It made me think at first that she doesn't really love me... but she does, dad. It's just that she can't break our hearts anymore... and she think letting me go would make all things right... I wanted us to have another chance and when I thought she deprived me that chance... she was too late for I couldn't wait for her anymore...” he said.

Jonas put his arm around him to comfort him. “Ella have made her decision, and if you think marrying Ariel will make things right, then go with it.” he said. Chun nodded his head. “But remember this – everything happens for a reason. There is a bigger plan for you and Ella, that's why God let it end this way. We don't know what destiny holds for the two of you. If your love for each other is strong enough, one day your paths will cross again, and the two of you can be together if the wrong became right, and the impossible can be possible. You just have to hold onto Him, because who knows, He's also holding Ella's hand, and when the time is right, He will let the two of you be together once again.” Jonas said. Chun looked up at his father, and nodded his head.

Arron opened the door of the mansion, and gently, he made his way to the stairs. “Finally, you're home...” he heard a voice said. He looked back, and saw his grandpa walking up to him. “You've been home for weeks now, and we haven't had the chance to talk...” grandpa said. Arron looked away from his grandfather. “Grandpa, I'm tired right now...” he said. He made a step up the stairs, but he heard his grandfather speak again. “I know. You've been helping your brother with his wedding, and you're busy courting Ella, am I right?” he asked. Arron looked at him, and saw him smiling at him. “I don't want to help ge anymore. I have nothing to do with his wedding.” he answered. He looked away from him again, and made another step.

“But even if you don't want to help your brother, I know you couldn't resist Ariel, right?” grandpa asked. Arron paused again, and gave his grandpa a confused look. “i know what happened a while ago. There's nothing in this mansion that I didn't know. I am an old man with too much time in his hands, so I know what happened.” grandpa said. “So, you know about Ella and Chun?” he asked. “I know everything from the start. I've seen how the love blooms between them.”
“But why didn't you stop them, grandpa? Why didn't you stop Chun, and save Ella the heartache?”
“Because I am not in the position to stop them from falling in love. Everything is all up to them.”
“You know Chun is going to marry your best friend's granddaughter, and yet you let Chun toy with Ella's feeling?”

Grandpa just smiled at him, and walked behind Arron. “Chun is being true to himself when he told Ella he love her. Ella is just being true to herself when she loved Chun. I think it was for the best when Chun fell in love with her, he wasn't the usual cranky and serious Chun we know. It just so happened that they started their relationship as a mistake. But I know, they didn't mean to hurt the two of you.” he said. He looked up at Arron, and gave him another warm smile. “And I know that Ella love you so much. She loved you, that it seemed her world revolved around you. But a heart also gets tired, Arron. Maybe she grew tired of loving you, of waiting for you, and Chun was there. Chun looked after her and took care of her while you're gone. Then, they found themselves falling for each other. Ella wanted to feel what it's like to be loved back, something that you have not done for her, so she gave Chun the chance to love her.” he continued. “My brother is still selfish, grandpa...” he said. Grandpa nodded his head. “I know. Because at first, he took away your first love, and now, he took away your best friend. Am I right? You're mad at your brother, not because of Ella. You're mad at him because of Ariel.” he said.

Arron was stunned at what he said. He was so surprised that he wasn't able to speak to correct him. “I know from the start that you love Ariel, Arron.” grandpa said. Arron looked away from him again. “I love her as my sister.” he said defensively. “You love her as a woman, Arron. And I know she is the reason why you cant love Ella back.” grandpa said. Arron fell silent at what he said. His grandfather spoke the truth, he spoke of what's inside his heart. “And just like Ella, you secretly loved Ariel, because you're scared your brother will be mad at you... because you've been wanting his attention all this time. You thought he blames you for your mother's death, when everything is my fault why he became like that. If Chun made a mistake with Ella, then learn from it, Arron. Correct his mistake. Be true to yourself, Arron.” grandpa said. Arron just shook his head. “You think too much, grandpa. I'm not in love with Ariel...” he said.

He walked up the stairs, ignoring his grandfather. “You can lie to everyone, Arron, but you can never lie to yourself. You love Ariel. That's the plain truth.” he said. He took a deep breath, and then went up the stairs. Grandpa could only watch him as he runs away from him. “And I thought I can correct this misunderstanding by talking to you... you were the one who's meant to marry Ariel, and not your brother, Arron... I hope one day you'll realize it...” he said. He let out a smile, and went up to his room.

--

Ariel walked in front of the full-length mirror, and looked at her reflection. “Am I doing the right thing?” she asked herself. In a few months, she will be marrying Chun. This would happen eventually, and this will happen soon. But even if she have anticipated it, she's doubting herself if she should marry him. She knew in her heart it wasn't Chun that she loves, but his brother. She loves Arron, but sadly, he is in love with someone else.

“I'm going to be Mrs. Chun Yan-Wu...” she said, smiling sadly to herself. Then, she paused. There was something in what she said that doesn't feel right. She looked at her reflection again, and stared at it for a long time. “Ariel Yan-Wu, Chun Yan-Wu's wife...” she said. Then, she shook her head. It doesn't feel right. It doesn't sound right. She looked up at her reflection again, and let out a smile. “Hi, I'm Ariel, Chun Yan-Wu's... wife...” she said, her voice faltering. Still, it didn't sound right, nor did it sound good. “I'm Mrs. Chun Yan-Wu...” she said. Then, she paused again. “This isn't going to work out...” she thought sadly.

She closed her eyes, and the first thing that came into her mind is Arron. The image of Arron smiling shyly at her came into her mind. She could remember the way he looked at her, and how he held her close to him. She realized she was smiling as she remembered him. “Arron Yan-Wu...” she whispered. Then, she opened her eyes. With a smile on her face, she practiced her line again. “Hi, I'm Ariel. I'm Arron Yan-Wu's wife.” she said. Somehow, saying that line made it sound and feel right. Like it's meant to be, like the words she said just rhymed. “I'm Arron's wife...” she said again.

As she remembered Chun, the smile on her face slowly faded. She couldn't do this, she thought. She can never be Arron's wife. Ella is the one whom Arron loves. And Chun, he is the man she is meant to marry. As much as she wanted to break off their engagement, she couldn't do it, because the man she really loves doesn't love her back. Or so she thought.

--

Chun got out of his room, and he saw Arron standing before him. He looked at her, but not with anger. Its as if there's no trace of his fury from yesterday. “Arron...” he said as he smiled at him. “You said you love Ella...” Arron began. Chun slowly nodded his head. “Do you love Ariel?” Arron asked. “I still do.” Chun answered. He heard his brother let out a sigh upon hearing his answer. “You still have a chance with Ella, you know.” Arron said. Chun shook his head. “I thought you heard everything yesterday? We already ended our relationship. We said our goodbyes. It's too late for the two of us to be together.” Chun said. Arron smirked at him, and shook his head. “You're wrong, Chun. It's not yet too late. It will only be too late if you continue with this mistake.” Arron said. “She made a decision. She already made a decision for the two of us.”
“And you'll just go with that? What about you? What's your decision? Will it be Ariel, or will it be Ella?”
“My decision is out of the question here, Arron. I just want to make things right, so I'm sticking with Ella's decision.”

He turned away from his brother, and began to walk away from him. “This will be the first and last time I'll ask of you this, Chun...” he heard Arron say. He paused, and then looked back at him. “You have to make your own decision now. Who's it gonna be? Ariel or Ella? Are you sure you want to marry Ariel? Don't you want to be with Ella anymore?” Arron asked. Chun fell silent at his question. “Answer me, Chun! Is it gonna be Ariel or Ella?” he asked again. He sighed, and then stared into his brother's eyes. “If Ella is here, she would ask me to choose Ariel. I'm choosing Ariel, for her sake.” Chun said. He turned his back on him again, and made a step away from him. “Fine. Now that you made your decision, then remember this. You have to take care of Ariel. You have to promise me that you will not do anything to break her heart anymore. I won't tell her anything, but you have to promise me that you'll love her, and her alone. Do you understand?” Arron said. Chun looked at him, and nodded his head. “I will...” he whispered. “And one more thing...” Arron continued. “now that you chose Ariel... you have to promise me you won't have anything to do with Ella anymore.” he said. Chun looked back at his brother and gave him a confused look. “I will take Ella with me. I will take care of her. I will make her mine, Chun. Not even you can stop me from loving her.” he said. Chun could only give his brother a surprised look.
